Fantastic cottage in the heart of Shepton Mallet. Great owners who are really friendly and make everything easy. Cottage is well equipped and everything you need is in place for a relaxing break. Easy parking and great to have separate entrance to get to cottage. Just a shame the weather was a bit too wet to be able to be outside in the terrace area.

The prison two hour tour was exceptional. We enjoyed the local church especially its beautiful window and rehearsing organist. The high street, although a little tired , held some interesting shops, attractive restaurants and surrounded by pretty cottagy houses. Nearby was the fascinating wells reclamation yard and Saturdays wells market, cathedral, bishops palace etc. A very successful weekend

Tired old hotel with rooms with peeling paint, broken cupboards and windows and dirty curtains. Had to go up 4 flights of stairs to get to attic room that was being used by the construction staff renovating the spa. Food was limited choice and of porr quality for the money that was being asked and charged. No phone in the room so had to climb up and down 4 flights of stairs to get any service. Issues not addressed and had to check out early, extremely poor hospitality. Do not tale bookings if you cannot provide a basic level of service.

Shelton Mallet seems to be a good representation of smaller, rural communities in Southern England. Beautiful surrounding countryside and closeness to some additional cities of interest such as Wells and Glastonbury. Several good restaurants were recommended by the owners of the inn. Roads in the town can be a bit tight.

It is in a good spot for touring around Dorset etc. Very quiet little town with not much to do. There is a Greek restaurant and a cafe that opens during the day. The Swan is one of the nicest pubs.

The Bath and West ground is literally just a mile away.
The Bath and West ground is literally just a mile away. Local facilities for shopping are also close by. If the weather is good there are beautiful walks and things to do. Where this is, you would definitely need a car to make the most of the surrounding area.
A quick break to celebrate my Daughters 21st Birthday. Great rural location, private parking, home from home really as we live on a farm also. Very clean throughout and loved the Christmas tree. Very spacious lodge with open plan layout. Good location for visiting local attractions. Enjoyed some lovely meals out in Shepton Mallet (Rosemary's Greek) and in Cheddar (The Bath Arms Hotel....Sunday lunch). The lodge was great value for the money and we all had a nice time.
Had a wonderful stay at the Courtyard apartment . Beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, every thing you would need for a stay plus extras like biscuits tea and coffee. Ruth was lovely, always helpful and the pizza we had from Ciabattino was delicious.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and it’s wonderful garden terrace.
Really hope to visit Ruth and the area again. Shepton Mallet is so central for discovering the delights of Somerset
The ambience was absolutely fabulous, the food presented was really tasty and value for money, the portions were great a really wholesome. Facilities in the highwayman were good, presented really well. Car parking was good and a good point to explore more of Somerset. A very enjoyable stay with friendly staff . The beds were comfortable. I will look forward to revisiting this hotel to see how things have progressed. Overall a nice place to stay.
This a good price. The accommodation is compact but adequate and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped. Water was hot and had good pressure in shower. Each bedroom has storage and TV. The beds are comfy. The location is very central to Shepton Mallet and within walking distance of places to eat. Paid parking is nearby. Shepton Mallet itself is attractive and a good place to explore the area
A lovely period cottage with many homely touches. Perfect for a family of 4 with a lovely well kept cottage garden at the back. Well stocked Co-op across the road and a great pub The Bell Inn a short walk away. Perfect location for exploring Somerset with Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Bath, Bristol and more in striking distance. A very comfortable stay with lovely helpful hosts.

Very spacious, photos don't do the size of the property justice.
Showers very good, although a little difficult to get the temperature right.
Ample seating in lounge and kitchen for everyone.
Well located for an event we attended in Shepton Mallet.
Beautifully furnished property in a quite area of Shepton Mallet. Alan, the host, was full of information about the town and restaurants/bars. Breakfast was exceptional and cooked to order. We would definitely recommend Maplestone.
Close to Fleet Air Arm Museum and Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford. This is a decent Budget option with Shepton Mallet a few minutes away. Staff friendly and manager had made a very tasty Easter Cheesecake too ! Food was good.
A very old, atmospheric hotel with good food selection, decent sized room, good facilities and in a quiet area. Adequate parking and close to the town centre and local facilities. Decent value for money.
