FAQs about hotels in Bath

Roman Remains and Georgian Grandeur

Wonderful, World Heritage-listed Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.

Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.

Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the River Avon overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-levelled Pulteney Weir and Grade I-listed Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options are the Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and high street stores on Milsom and George streets.

North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.

Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath accommodation, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

There is so much to do and see in Bath. It is the only UK city designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. One can visit Bath for day trip or stay for a few days. There is so much to do and see. The City allows one to be transported back through time to travel centuries in just a few steps. Bath is a city that offers so much to visitors. There is a wide range from cultural attractions, historical sites and museums, to theatre and performance venues, to unique art galleries. e.g. Architectural masterpieces like the Royal Crescent and the Circus; Bath Abbey; The Roman Baths dating back to AD43; The Holburne Museum; The Jane Austen Centre; Pulteney Bridge that was built in the late 1700's to connect central Bath to land on the other side of the River Avon. Bath is a beautiful historical city.

Bath is a beautiful historical city. We were very impressed with how clean the streets were and how well maintained the City is. Spoilt for choice for eateries and bars/pubs. A true gem. We didn’t use the public transport as it was so easy to get around walking but buses appeared to be regular and the transport links were good. Our only wish is that national rail offered quicker and better rail links from Bath to the North of the UK.

This is a lovely hotel in the centre of Bath, with beautiful spacious clean rooms. Then Penhaligons toiletries were a lovely addition. The hotel also has a beautiful garden and terrace which serves possibly the best pizza ever. Notably this hotel has the loveliest of staff, who are obviously very happy and enjoying their work. You are looked after exceptionally well. There was nothing we didn’t like about this hotel. We have family in Bath and this is where we will be staying from now on.

Annabelle's Guest House is located a few minutes from the city centre and the station, the room has a lot of storage space and the bed was the best I have slept ever in any hotel accommodation. Sergio, the owner, is extremely kind, polite and really made our stay as comfortable as possible, he was always available to chat and he offered more than once to keep our bags even after we left. If we will return to Bath we will chose Annabelle's guest house again for sure.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to be welcoming. Hotel is perfectly situated to all the major sights. The Royal Bath Theatre is right across the street! I have mobility issues and tire easily, I had no issues being able to visit a site then rest then go back out again! I had a room without any windows, which I knew when I booked it. I didn’t miss it as the air conditioning was amazing. Coolest room I’ve had yet in the UK.

Great location in upper Bath, which is a lovely part of town, very near The Circus and Royal Crescent. Our room ( Master Deluxe) was very spacious and comfortable, with a huge bathroom. Breakfast was included in our rate and was very good, with many choices. The hotel has several nice common rooms and lots of outdoor seating as well. Staff were all friendly. The beds were very comfortable (I do a lot of traveling and these were by far the best). The quality of the bathrooms was very good, they were like a good-quality hotel. The hotel is located in an excellent location. You can walk pretty much everywhere. It's located right by city center so you're able to walk to the Historic Roman Baths and pretty much any other tourist site. Plus you're close to shopping and good eateries. The bed was super comfy, the water in the bathroom was hot, and the room was quite clean. My favorite part was probably the breakfast. The breakfast buffet was amazing.
