Open-plan and open-minded, Cambridge is best known for university colleges dating to the 13th century. King’s College is the most popular, and its chapel choir is internationally famous. Although accessed from cobbled King’s Parade, it is best viewed from a punt on The Backs, the part of the River Cam behind.
Cambridge punting is an institution and gives great views of Queen’s College Mathematical Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs at St John’s College. Upstream is Jesus Green, site of an outdoor pool and a fantastic beer festival. Next to this is Midsummer Common, a park home to the annual Strawberry Fair (and the occasional cow). Opposite are the college boathouses - get up early to see the rowers in action!
Cows also roam the Mill Pond meadow, where the river leads south to Grantchester, a quaint village with a lovely cafe. Places to eat in Cambridge include riverside restaurants and typical English pubs like The Eagle, drinking hole of DNA founders Watson & Crick.
Cambridge shopping options include a daily market (in Market Square), the Grafton Centre and the exclusive Grand Arcade, the latest addition. The Scott Polar Museum and free Fitzwilliam Museum are 2 of many fantastic Cambridge museums.
Stansted Airport is connected by train to the city’s accommodation choices on Booking.com.

Cambridge is brilliant if you have money and are probably 40 plus. The colleges, the punting on the river and the pubs at night after visiting the Fitzwilliam museum and a few shops with £100 kettles is fine. Not really for teenagers on a budget.

Cambridge area is well worth visiting. access by car to and around the city is fine but don't even bother to go into the city unless you park and ride and enjoy it that way.
punting on the river has become expensive now even competing with the Venetian gondoliers

The city’s mix of youthful energy and rich history is quite captivating. The colleges that ring the city have their own story to tell. Stroll through town and feel the vibe but beware of bicycles! The farmers market in the city center has an amazing array of ethnic food vendors. Such aromas! make it difficult to choose what to eat. Not to miss, the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Such a fabulous collection that would rival any big city museum. The gift shop has the best prices in town for souvenirs.
Don't drive in town if you can help it. It's congested and there is plenty of good public transportation.

The overall feel was quite calm and relaxing despite being quite busy, probably because it's not car friendly in the centre. Lots of interesting and historical buildings relating to the University and others to look at. Some good pubs to visit for a drink and or a meal and plenty of decent recent restaurants. A shopping complex in the centre and also lotts of other shops

We had a great stay at Centennial hotel, couldn’t fault anything. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is in a great location and the car park is a massive bonus, we left our car and walked into the city centre which is an easy walk along a straight road and takes about 15 mins. The staff were lovely and breakfast was delicious. Great value for money and I will definitely be staying again when I’m next in Cambridge!
Parking is plentiful but dreadful (and extra £) in the same sense. Big car park but full of what I assume are commuters, so if you can get there before 7am, no worries. If you can't then good luck! And if you ask the hotel staff for help, they're clueless. How can an out of town hotel struggle with parking?!?! Maybe it's because Cambridge hates cars.
The Summerhouse was clean, furnished in good taste, and had most things we needed. Our host was helpful and friendly. He provided us with the milk of our choice on arrival and a change of towels during the week. Girton is close to Cambridge city centre, so it is easy to get anywhere. It is considerably cheaper than a hotel in central Cambridge.
Decent hostel not hotel. Clean bedding.
Mould in some parts of toilet.
No towel hook- broken and in Cupboard.
Bus stop close by
Cheap compared to all other parts of Cambridge but that doesn’t mean it can’t be good so, disappointed with stay tbh
