A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, whose highlight is walking through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.
The city’s most recognisable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the colour of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.
Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping centre has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.
South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this is not the city’s only sporting heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules football and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.
Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodation from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.

Melbourne is a modern, vibrant metropolitan with multiple cultural features, and a coexistence holding the historical legacy, humanistic values, and artistic flair at the same time. It is worth visiting and walking around.

We absolutely loved our stay in Melbourne.
We absolutely loved our stay in Melbourne. It is a very walkable city & having free trans in the city centre is a huge bonus. The food everywhere is amazing & delicious.
A beautiful positive slice of Europe with all the beautifully preserved buildings.
We will be back!
Tip: Brunetti on Flinders Lane is superb with artisan cakes as well as Pizza options & wonderful Aperol/Campari based cocktails.
Also delicious Gluten Free cake available!
For dinner (Greek Food) try Stalactites on the corner of Lonsdale Street/Russell Street, the meals are huge & the meat is cooked to perfection.
A wine tour with Viator (operator was Teepee Tours) to the Yarra valley was a highlight.

Breakfast is always good here. Location is excellent if you catch the red skybus from the airport. leaving your bags before or after you check in/out is never a problem. From this hotel walking to anywhere in the CBD is pretty easy. This is fast becoming my favourite hotel in regard to logistics (both getting to and being convenient when I am in Melbourne)
Well appointed apartments, a short distance from the hustle and bustle from the CBD but easy walk to tram stops and close to Southern Cross Station. Friendly staff and checking in and out was a breeze. Will considering booking here again on future visits to Melbourne.
We received a free upgrade to a 3 bedroom apartment with awesome views of the city. Location was fabulous- easy walking distance to many attractions like the MCG, Botanical Gardens, Melbourne CBD, Southbank and the casino. Easy access to public transport.
We drove to Melbourne & needed to garage it overnight. Wilson carpark next door to city stays which was great for us. Hotel is within walking distance to Queen Victoria markets which we really like. Easy walk to free tram & CBD.
Excellent bathroom.
