A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, whose highlight is walking through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.
The city’s most recognisable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the colour of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.
Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping centre has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.
South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this is not the city’s only sporting heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules football and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.
Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodation from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.
I wanted to see so much that it was hard to fit it all in.
I wanted to see so much that it was hard to fit it all in. The 3 day Great Ocean Road trip was amazing such a stunning coastline. Drove as far as Port Fairy returning along the inland route then ferry across to the Mornington Perninsula.
I chose to walk to all the attractions I wanted to see as the weather was perfect
interesting laneways and architecture are well represented. along the way
At the end of the day very easy to put the feet up and enjoy a night out in a quirky bar

Melbourne is easy and convenient to solo travers, free tram and simple structure of street is easy to get attractions. Plus toilet is free and clean, many grass area to make people feel relax. Also recommend families to bring kids to the great ocean road and Philips Island, it's beautiful and agency provides tours that you can join and visit it without driving yourself.

I did find that it was a little far from Melbourne cbd.
I did find that it was a little far from Melbourne cbd. If I had to stay closer to the city this probably wouldn’t be an option as it was quite expensive for an Uber. I did really like the hotel the staff were friendly. My daughter wanted to go on the Ferris wheel in town but I think it was to expensive for a couple of minutes that’s why no one was on it

Melbourne can be whatever you want.
Melbourne can be whatever you want. Don't be afraid to explore all those hidden laneways. There are so many cafes, bars and shops you could visit for a week every year and never tire of the experiences. Don't forget to hire a car and visit Phillip Island, Daylesford Ballarat and Bendigo too!

The one-bedroom apartment suited us perfectly. Easy access by tram to Melbourne CBD and main sporting and arts/culture attractions. The apartment was well laid out with all amenities including washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, TV and balcony. The bed was comfortable, the apartment was spotlessly clean and the host supplied everything needed for a wonderful holiday break. She even provided a loaf of home baked bread. We've stayed in many holiday apartments over the years and this was the best experience. Highly recommended!
Everything! A perfectly set up apartment for 2 couples within CBD area and so many good value eateries and supermarkets etc. Close to cheap public transport options for all travel in Melbourne. Lots of international students living in the area so good cheap student meal and entertainment deals everywhere. A truly great holiday experience with a luxurious and peaceful apartment to come back to for a good rest after all the pleasures and excitement of a great city.
The hotel is very nicely designed, bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel tv in the room also had free movies available without the need for streaming platforms. Location was ok- 14 minute walk from Skybus terminal in the city that connects travellers to Melbourne airport. Something to note: the hotel is on the outskirts of the central busy CBD area (approx 30-40min walk or 15 Min uber).
The breakfast was awesome great selection on the menu to choose from. The location was perfect within walking distance to many great sites like laneways NGV, CBD, Fed Square. The hotel was so clean it really did exceed my expectations !! Also how good is Melbourne I haven't been for many years such a cool city !!!
Huge apartments with everything you need. Excellent location in the Melbourne CBD, particularly for the best dining and access to Flinders St Station. Great value for money.
