“I went to this Hokkaido for a 8 days to drive around the country side and I wanted to leave my luggage in a hub in Sapporo as I knew I would be flying back to Tokyo from there so I picked this hostel. Everything was good for the most part as I only spent about 3/7 days in it:
- The first thing that I must mention is that the staff is amazing! When I went on my trip, I left my PASSPORT in the hostel on my bunk (I know, slow moment on my behalf!), and some hotels that I came across during my road trip required my original passport to check me in (include some famous hotel like the hot spring that overlooks the famous Hell Valley!). I was super happy when I managed to call Wise Owl in Sapporo and they agreed to hold onto my belongings and FAX (yes, fax haha.. Japan is still old school) my passport to 2 of the hotels I stayed at on my 4 day road trip! Big big big thank you to them for not disagreeing or frowning upon my request.
They were also sooo helpful (especially the Japanese lady, I forgot her name) in helping me organize this trip and finding somewhere to eat when I was back at the hostel. Overall, great staff!
- Lots of food options nearby!
- There's a car rental and a gas station nearby
- There's a conbini across the street
- It's about a 25-30 minute walk from the Odori park which is always nice to see.
- Big common area where I met some cool people there (I got lucky!)
- I did my laundry and it was very quick and easy (I washed for 30 mins and dryed for 1 hour!)”
