We had a short but sweet stay at Furumaya House, the Japanese home cooking by Sayaka-san is absolutely delicious, the hamburger steak is to die for. The rice is home grown and the other ingredients are locally sourced. We also really enjoyed the home made umeju, must try if you visit! If you are looking for a homey/cozy place to stay with great home cooking look no where else. Would definitely come and stay again to experience the area in depth next time!

Beautiful property right next to the main attractions but in a quiet neighborhood. I woke up and was able to go on a beautiful nature walk in the park and got a bonus view over Kyoto. Loved the private onsen tub.

I didn’t realise that I had to prebook the meal. If I had known I definitely would have. Lighting in the bathroom was dim, so a bit difficult to put on makeup.

Great location, heaps of restaurants and shopping all around you and not far from a train station. Staff were very friendly as well. Room was small but expected in Japan, was just somewhere to sleep.

The cafe at the entrance is great to chill. The location is amazing if you're not looking for too touristy areas (and it's great to go out at night too!)

In the toilet the step on the floor for the walk-in shower is a bit dangerous (maybe add a warning sign!)

Really nice big rooms with a great view, the front desk were very helpful and there were great restaurants and cocktail bars nearby.

Buffet breakfast was okay. The chef's french toast interpretation was the highlight. Better coffee options and red wine that is not refrigerated would be desirable ~ Australians here ;)
