I had a lovely time at Casona de Estilo Inglés. Margarita is a very kind host and her house is beautifully decorated. I liked sitting in the garden, which is very tranquil. There were lots of nice places to eat nearby and the town centre is a short bus ride away. Montevideo is now one of my favourite cities in the whole world. The next time I visit, I will take a proper Mate (Ma-Tay!) kit everywhere, so I can blend in with the cool locals! :-)

Great location for accessing all places of interest, continental breakfast was great, rooms was a little small but very clean and well serviced. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The air conditioning doesn’t allow guests to control the temperature. At night, it was blowing extremely hot air. We traveled in spring, with sunny days. Sometimes I had to turn it off and open the window. Another point: we stayed for three days, and on one of the days, even though we were out of the hotel until 3 PM, when we returned the room still hadn’t been cleaned
