Strasbourg is a gem of a city and easily reached from Paris...
Strasbourg is a gem of a city and easily reached from Paris by TGV. Sadly, we were there over Easter, which meant that many of the museums were closed. We loved the horloge astronomique and the cathedral. The Museum of Modern Art was much loved by my artist nephew and I enjoyed a ride round the old city on the Little Train.Guest review byChezz5Australia - Review score
Very clean and safe.
Very clean and safe. Perfect location for a short Elzas discovery trip. Highway to Straatsburg and Colmar/Mulhouse is only 5 mins away. On the other hand it's also a very short drive to get up in the mountains.Guest review byKarmenBelgium - Review score
We visited just before Christmas.
We visited just before Christmas. The centre of this beautiful town was nicely decorated with trees and lights everywhere and some small Christmas markets. Not as hectic as nearby Colmar, which we also visited. The shops in Sélestat offer a range of high quality and unusual gifts. There are some fantastic bakeries and coffee shops.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - Review score

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay, especially for the price. The rooms were nice, clean, and spacious enough, with the added convenience of parking and being super close to the tram. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! Even though we expected to share a bathroom, we were happy to find a shower in the room, only the toilets were shared.Guest review byManuelaSpain - Review score

The village was lovely and picturesque, we stayed for a family wedding and visited the surrounding villages which were all lovely. The locals were Friendly and the food was delicious. The owner of the property was very helpful, we had a couple of requests such as a kettle and batteries for the remote, which she delivered promptly for us. The Wi-Fi signal was intermittent, although we did manage to use Netflix once or twice. The apartment was very cozy, close to the shops. There was some noise from above during the day but quiet at night. All in all the apartment was cozy, well equipped and had a lovely feel about it, I would recommend it if you are travelling to Alsace, not too far from Strasbourg either.Guest review byHelenUnited Kingdom - Review score
A really good location for exploring the area.
A really good location for exploring the area. Great for Family friendly cycling - quiet roads and easy to access car free cycle tracks (canal and Rhine). Easy access to Park and Ride for Strasbourg and lots of other beautiful Alsace towns within 30 mins - 1 hour. Nice boulangerie in town. Super U very useful being right next to campsite.Guest review byAnnaUnited Kingdom - Review score
Very quiet and convenient location to visit Strasbourg.
Very quiet and convenient location to visit Strasbourg. A tramway goes from Illkirch-Graffenstaden to the centre of Strasbourg and runs every 15 minutes until midnight. Very nice and pleasant dinner at the Auberge du Cerf, including an excellent tartes flambéeGuest review byRobertaItaly - Review score

We had 2 nights in Strasbourg which was just right for us. We had the boat ride, which had a commentary in all different languages as did the 2 little trains that go around different parts of the city. Of course, don’t miss the Cathedral and its stain glass windows and very unusual clock. If you’re fit, climb up the tower for beautiful views. So much history, beautiful buildings and streets. We parked in Gutenberg underground carpark which was 4 minutes from the hotel. Pricey, but worth it.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - Review score

A great place for long or short walks (try the walk by the river up to Otrott), and the best for food. Visit the thursday Market and the organic market on Saturday. Easy to get to Strasbourg by bus or train.Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom - Review score

We chose to stay here as it seemed to be a good midpoint between Colmar and Strasbourg, both of which we intended to visit. However, upon arriving we abandoned plans to visit Strasbourg and instead spent the day in and around Selestat, is it was so lovely and not nearly as filled with tourists as Colmar had been. In particular, the tour through the castle nearby (Haut-Koenigsbourg) was outstanding. Also well worth visiting was the Bibliotheque Humaniste. We left wishing we'd spent a bit more time in this beautiful town - definitly a hidden gem!Guest review byJirka JustAustralia
