Uncrowded, great history, read it!, and ambiance to match. Look up the Dancing Plague of Strasbourg 1518! Bring a camera. Go slow and forget the uber-hyped tourist stops. This was a good resting vacation, not a tussel with crowds. Great mass transit...USE IT! Go to the walking bridges over the Rhine into Kehl, Tram F to Place d'Islande.

Visit the cathedral at 12 and see the astrological clock at 1230, what an experience. You will take loads of photos, it’s such a beautiful and interesting city. Food is amazing, loads to see and do. Good shopping. We took a train trip to Colmar for a day visit as well.

We had two full days in the city which was sufficient for what we wanted to see and do.
City is flat, so very easy to walk. But also has an excellent tram service with central hub at Homme de Fer if you are staying outside of the city centre.
La Petite France, the old town area and river is very touristy and only a small part of the central area of Strasbourg. Excellent restaurant in that area is La Corde à Ligne.
The buildings around the Place de la Republique are impressive and worth a visit. Close by and also well worth seeing is the Tomi Ungerer Museum with many of his cartoons.
Highlight of our trip was seeing the Astronomical Clock in the cathedral. There is a 30 minute video show (in French, English and German) which starts at midday (cost €4) and explains the history which is fascinating and then clock chimes at 12:30.

Strasbourg is a gem of a city and easily reached from Paris by TGV. Sadly, we were there over Easter, which meant that many of the museums were closed. We loved the horloge astronomique and the cathedral. The Museum of Modern Art was much loved by my artist nephew and I enjoyed a ride round the old city on the Little Train.

We had 2 nights in Strasbourg which was just right for us.
We had 2 nights in Strasbourg which was just right for us. We had the boat ride, which had a commentary in all different languages as did the 2 little trains that go around different parts of the city. Of course, don’t miss the Cathedral and its stain glass windows and very unusual clock. If you’re fit, climb up the tower for beautiful views. So much history, beautiful buildings and streets. We parked in Gutenberg underground carpark which was 4 minutes from the hotel. Pricey, but worth it.

The hotel is great and 10 minutes by foot from the city centre. The staff is great, speaks perfect English and the checkin went really quick. The rooms are very spacious, the beds are comfy, the shower is reeeeaally large and if your room is on the right side of the building it offers an amazing view over Strasbourg. Parking garages are also nearby and there is a lot of bars, restaurants etc in walking distance
Best Western was a great experience. The hotel is well located to the station and also not far from the city centre. The room was modern and clean. Would definitely stay here again upon my return to Strasbourg.
Lovely hotel opposite Strasbourg main station and within walking distance to the town centre. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Highly recommend.
The location was very convenient for the station and easy walking distance into the city centre and Petite France.
There was a good range of options for breakfast.
