Beautiful town full of fine old buildings, easy to walk round and many sites to visit. Cathedral including climbing to the outside platform, wine cellars in the hospital and Petite France area are must-sees. We ate three nights a L'Oignon bistro restaurant - excellent.

The Petite France was exceptional, we tried Tarte Flambée there. What truly impressed me, though, was the Strasbourg Cathedral - in the end, the square was my favorite place in Strasbourg. Everything was easily accessible on foot from our accommodation near the center, even the Parc de l'Orangerie, which was beautiful thanks to its natural surroundings.

Strasbourg is an amazing blend of German and French culture.
Strasbourg is an amazing blend of German and French culture. Petit France is charming and the cathedral with its astronomical clock is very impressive. We had breakfast at Origin, whose vegan croissants were nearly indistinguishable from butter ones. Highly recommend the Le Petit Bouillon Pharamond for good food at very reasonable prices, especially their desserts. Strasbourg is very walkable and there is a convenient tram that goes through the city. A hidden gem for us was the Municipal Baths, where you can explore Roman Baths, saunas, a salt room, cold plunges, and a heated outdoor pool for under $30 pp.

Once you get into the old town, it's really pretty.
Once you get into the old town, it's really pretty. There are loads of great photo opportunities, things to see, shops to visit, and the cathedral is huge.
The restaurants can get pretty packed, so research the good ones beforehand and make a reservation. If you do rock up to a restaurant, prices and menu options, for traditional French cuisine, are pretty similar. If boring burger options are your things, many restaurants offer those sorts of choices. Service can be a bit slow and sometimes forgetful, but as long as you remain polite and smile, if there is a problem, the staff are normally great. Try the local beers too. Loads of ice cream sellers too, but recommend you get from a shop and not a street merchant, as there are more to choose from in a shop.
Be careful too when walking. Lots of people riding really fast scooters, zooming in an out and you can easily be hit. Just be aware. Avoid the beggars too and make sure you keep your purse/wallet/bag/phone with you at all times.
Overall though, a nice place to visit.

The Strasbourg was a delightful surprise for us.
The Strasbourg was a delightful surprise for us. It’s a charming, clean, and beautiful city with stunning architecture. The city is lively, with many nice bars and restaurants. There’s a lot to see in the city and its surroundings, including beautiful parks and museums. You can easily explore the city by bike, as there are separate bike lanes. You could easily spend a few days here and still not be able to see everything.

We booked Hotel Le Grillon for a short 2 night stay in Strasbourg and it proved to be an ideal base from which to explore the city, located around 5 minutes walk from the train station and around 10 minutes from the historic centre of Strasbourg.
Our room was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. All the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly.
The hotel was good value for money, and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient base without breaking the bank!

This is a beautiful hotel in the centre of Strasbourg, we arrived early but that was not a problem they parked our car and kept our bags to place in our room later. The hotel is around a 6 minute walk from le petit France. There are also nice bars and restaurants in the area. The spa was lovely. The room was very large and the bed super comfortable. I would recommend for anyone who wants to treat themselves while in Strasbourg.
