The White Swan, hotel in Kirton in Lindsey

This boutique hotel and restaurant is set in a tranquil riverside village, 5 miles south of Scunthorpe.

Booking with the hotel directly is cheaper, he man on reception was polite bit almost dismissive, as if booking by booking.com had upset him. Anyway, kitchen and restaurant staff were lovely. And very helpful.

A very quiet village. No entertainment in the area.

A very quiet village. No entertainment in the area. Local windmill looks as if it is permanently closed. A good base if visiting Scunthorpe (6 miles away) or Lincoln (20 miles away). Bus operates every 2 hours to Lincoln (Not Sundays). Train operates 3 times a day (Saturdays ONLY!!!).
