Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel, hotel in Hull

Just 15 minutes' drive from Hull city centre, Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel features a modern fitness centre and free parking. In quiet Willerby, it offers a stylish restaurant and spacious rooms.

The bathroom was dirty with hair in the plug hug, hairs on the floor and mould around the bath taps. It wasn’t what the hotel promised in terms of cleanliness and I don’t understand the 4 star rating, the rooms were very dated. Hotel needs reform.

Hull is nice around the parts of the hotel St Stephens, and the Old Town marina, in the heat of the city centre and near the railway it is dirty and full of people drugged up, not nice for children to see!

Hull is not a traditional destination tourist city.

Hull is not a traditional destination tourist city. We were there for a concert on the Friday and decided to make a weekend of it. I have been to Hull loads of times for work but not really as a tourist. Great if you are interested in the English Civil Wars. The plot room in the Olde White Hart is worth a visit and Beverly Gate is well accessible. There are a couple of museums and William Wilberforce's house. The old part of the city is worth a wander around. We had a bite to eat at the oldest house in Hull. Many properties dating from the 1500s around the old part of town. Amazing they survived the second world war given the strategic location of the city.

    Underrated city.

Underrated city. Although it's small, it has many museums, shops, pubs, and cafes. I recommend the Ferens gallery especially, which always has amazing stuff going on and honestly doesn't have the right to go as hard as it does.

Hull is a beautiful town that has a satisfactory mix of old and new. There is plenty for all to do, from museums, to shops, to The Deep Aquarium (which we highly recommend!). We did not have to use public transport, it was easy to walk most distances around the town centre, however from what we saw, public transport was easy enough to use.

I found good vegan food - Ambiente by the docs - but there was also a fair few other options in the centre. There were plenty of shops. It felt quite safe. There were a lot of cool looking bars and cafes. I came here for the hospital, though. So these things were a bonus. I wouldn't choose to come to Hull for a holiday; it just exceeded my expectations as a city.

The only short coming for Hull is the major road works which are currently causing difficulty for entering, leaving and getting around. The museums are excellent and free to enter and the night life is OK but there was a disproportionate number of drunk revellers. We felt a little unsafe due to the immigrants when walking around near the station

Location great, local shop round the corner for breakkie bits and pieces and good selection of wines, cheese and crackers for the evening. 50 yards further to the street of bars and restaurants and overlooking the Marina so ideally located away from the main City centre - ideal for our stay. Views from the Penthouse of the sea and the Deep. great sunset !

+1. Location - it is the second closest hotel to Hull's Paragon bus & rail interchange (a 250m level walk). +2. All the facilities that travellers need of a city centre hotel. +3. Reasonably priced considering its location. +4. Staff are happy to look after luggage, even at times when the guest isn't staying there

Beautiful quiet location looking over Marina. Couldn’t hear road works on other side of hotel. Really friendly and helpful staff in a hotel which is spotlessly clean. The location is great for the city centre. We had the breakfast which is excellent and the restaurant team were great. Our hotel of choice for Hull.

The property was in a great location, a few minutes walk from the marina & hull city centre. The apartment was cleaned to a high standard and had everything you would need in a self catering accommodation.
