De Vere Tortworth Court, hotel in Hawkesbury

This historic Gothic mansion sits in tranquil parkland on the Cotswold Edge, beside the Severn Valley and close to Bristol. It offers fine dining, a leisure club, and spacious, traditional rooms.

The hotel was set in beautiful grounds and was dog friendly. The staff were all friendly and helpful and kind to us. There were handy car parks near each area of the hotel so you could park close to your room. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. We had a lovely break and have booked to stay again later in the year

Hawkesbury Upton is a nice village, centrally located for lots of tourist attractions. There are lots of nice walks in the surrounding countryside. It has a well stocked shop and 2 pubs. The Beaufort Arms is very nice, with good beer and food. The Fox Inn had recently reopened and was having teething troubles, which I hope they sort out.

Fantastic service. Everyone weeny above and beyond. I was doing a 2000 mile 20 day charity bicycle ride and picked this hotel as stopover for day 18. Everything we’d perfect and the staff event kept the kitchen I open for us as we were late in due to the terrible weather that day.

David and his wife were wonderful hosts. David made a huge roasted dinner for us. This is a great location in the middle of Hawkesbury Upton with easy access to the Cotswold Way. There’s also a convenient small grocery across the street.

Nothing. I only ever give fair reviews, but I have to honestly say that The Fox Inn at Hawkesbury Upton is the worst place I have ever stayed. Avoid at all costs!
