“The staff are welcoming and helpful. On arrival we asked for an iron and ironing board and they were brought to the room straight away.
The room is beautiful - spotlessly clean and well presented. The bed is comfortable, with quality bedding. There is a large TV on the wall and a hairdryer in the wardrobe. The hospitality tray contains a selection of coffee and tea, including green tea and Earl Grey. The bathroom is also spotless and has everything you need.
We didn't eat dinner there on this occasion as we had to go straight out to an event, but we have eaten there previously and found the food (and beer) to be excellent.
Breakfast.... WOW! On our last visit I had the veggie full English, which was lovely, and this time I decided to try the Eggs Royale. Perfect poached eggs and a generous helping of smoked salmon with a tasty hollandaise on a lightly toasted muffin. My husband had a regular full English, which he enjoyed apart from the sausages which were good quality but a little undercooked (cooked through but not browned). The additional cold selection is basic but adequate (cornflakes, Weetabix, fruit juices, a toaster alongside bread, butter, jams and marmalade), although the addition of fresh fruit would be welcome.
We love staying at the Barley Mow, and would highly recommend it.”
“What a little gem of a place this is. The room is spacious with a table and chairs to relax and look at the view or tv. The bed is very comfortable and the shower exceptional. And there is a fridge!”
