“Great hotel with perfect balance between traditional and modern. The staff and service were out of this world amazing and so were the meals (breakfast and dinner) which were both included. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Great location, very close to station and bus stop to the snow monkeys. The arrival drink and the complementary Sake bar at night made it even more special. Thanks so much to the team at Hotel Tsubakino for the amazing stay!”
“Shimaya is in a great location, close to the train station, cafes and Lawson shop. The room was very comfortable and clean and the small balcony was great. The owner was very pleasant & helpful. He drove us to the entrance of the snow monkey park, which was very kind of him.”
“Hosts Yoshi and Seongmi are really friendly and genuinely care about you having a great time. They gave us good tips for things to do and places to eat in the local area which really helped us. The place itself is really accessible via public transport and a great place to explore further from - we walked to the snow monkeys and used the train a couple of times to explore the local area.
Rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the shared bathrooms were also exactly what we needed for our stay.
Highly recommended to stay here!”
“The views from the room were amazing.
Complimentary ride to the monkey park and to the train station.
The futons were surprisingly comfortable.
Onsens were great, although a very odd experience for us prudish British folk.
It was great to have a traditional experience, wearing a kimono and a traditional dinner.”
“The breakfast was buffet style, and it was really good.
They have a free shuttle service for the snow monkey park. I went to the park the last day of my stay, and they came to pick me up at the park at 11:00, which is after the check-out time which is 10:00, and they even drove me to the train station afterwards. I could leave my baggage in the lobby while staying at the park.
The onsen at the hotel is really nice with both an indoor and an outdoor bath. The onsen was open for use from 13:00 to 09:00 the next day as I can remember.
The staff was really nice and helpful.”
