My 12 year old daughter and I had a wonderful stay with Gearldine at the end of August for 3 nights when visiting family in the area. It couldn't have been better. Gearldine was so welcoming and friendly. The accommodation is beautiful and the breakfast was excellent each day. We would highly recommend it.

The owner was in hospital and full breakfast had been discontinued for almost a month by the time we arrived. At least there was a variety of things provided to make one's own breakfast, but again it failed our expectations and no adjustment was made to the cost.

Absolutely worth the visit and plan to spend better part of a day at Birr. The telescope and scientific exhibits are fascinating, and the castle tour is enlightening to learn about the Earls and their families. The gardens are beautifully maintained and a joy to explore.

Take time to visit this property! The castle is only available to see through a tour, a family still lives there, but the property is immense, with alot of walking paths, gardens, water, and science. I had no idea how much this family had contributed to the field. Absolutely amazing. We only had a couple hours and I wish I’d had a whole day… at least.

Easy check in, we were met at the door.
Spacious room. Free parking on the street right outside the B and B.. Quiet location. Walking distance to township and Birr Castle. Stunning dining room and a great selection on the breakfast menu. We enjoyed looking around their gift shop.
The location is superb, a spacious townhouse in an elegant, leafy Georgian street within short walking distance of both Birr Castle and Birr town centre. Breakfasts chosen from a menu in the comfortable dining room/cafe/restaurant were generous and of very high quality. Everyone was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Free on-street parking was readily available close to the B&B.
Extremely friendly, efficient and helpful, owners are very welcoming, breakfast was top class with good quality produce, very clean with good size room's, perfect location close to birr castle and surrounding amenities, children had great fun in the garden with swings, slides and football goals, couldn't ask for better!
This was a great place to stay. It is located just beside the Birr Castle Estate on a nice quiet street. The hosts were warm and welcoming. They gave us tips on where to eat and places to see. The accomodation was comfortable with outdoor seating in the garden. I would highly reccomend it for a lovely place to stay in Birr.
Food is absolutely amazing! So fresh and so tasty. Sauna lovely and hot. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Right beside birr castle..definitely worth a visit there.
We stayed two nights while attending a wedding in Birr Castle.
It was perfectly located just outside the gates.
It was a lovely hotel, very comfortable and the staff were wonderful.
They were very accommodating and had no problem with my small dog staying.

Fantastic guesthouse located right beside Birr Castle within walking distance of the main street. Fabulous throughout, room very clean and comfortable and really well appointed. Breakfast was excellent. Great attention to detail throughout our stay. Excellent value.
