We’ve been away for a month and stayed at some nice places. However, we opened the door on our room and hubby said ‘wow’. The room was amazing, the bathroom even more so.
The flagged floors, stone walls and open fires in the pub added to the magical ambiance, as though one had entered a time slip.
Food was great, and staff were lovely. Would dearly love to return.

I immediately arrived and was told that Booking.com had not passed my reservation in to the new owners (don't know if that's true and I probably won't get this posted now anyway). The owners couldn't be more accommodating and found me what I assume was probably the best room in the hotel. The evening meal was good and the breakfast very good. The facilities in my room were very good but I didn't know what a more standard room would be like? It is quite a lively place and it's where all the youngest hang out on a weekend. They regularly have live music too.

The staff were extremely helpful. Dawn and Alison in particular. The location was very quiet and nothing much going on in Brough! But I visited Appleby, Kirby Stephen, and Kendal, plus Brough castle. All worth a visit.
