My room was perfect, every detail of it. It was calming and relaxing. There is a magic aura all around the place.. yoga classes, meditation, events, special offers.. the spa and the food. The whole experience of staying at Villa Kalisat was wonderful! The Monkey Room is amazing. Big, beautifully furnished, with an astonishing view of the valley and river below. The whole side of the room is made of windows from ceiling to floor. You wake up to see monkeys jumping on trees on the other side of the valley. All the time you can hear the sound of a waterfall that is located just beneath the terraces of Villa Kalisat, of roosters and wildlife. Two pools with the same view. One thing we found really great were incense sticks used outside the rooms, that gave a beautifiul, but not too strong smell. Nice smelling cosmetics in the bathroom. Food is served on the terrace. The breakfasts are really great and beautifully served. We didn't eat lunch or dinner there but it looked great as well. The most amazing thing about the Villa though are the staff and managers- really concentrated on the guests, doing everything to make the experience of visiting Ubud a perfect one- answering questions, suggesting places to visit, shops and restaurants to try. It's been a pleasure talking to them. A whole family of more than 15 people are living within the compound located next to the Villa, where many of them work so you feel that your stay is also supporting their income. If you need asistance with getting to Ubud drivers are on standby, always happy to take you. The waterfall beneath the hotel is also great- just 10 minutes walk down to the valley- best not to go in flip-flops as the steps are slippery. You can swim next to the waterfall. A small temple is beside it. We had a really amazing experience in Villa Kalisat and will definitely come back again.
