First & foremost the accommodation is not commensurate to the standard Booking.com maintains. The accommodation price is not over charged, but I found so many Hotels near by were excluded in your hotel list mysteriously.

Comfortable bed in our room, better than the rest of Vietnam! Take a room in the back, it's much more quiet. 1 dog barking once in a while during the day, but quiet during the night. Great breakfast, hot water, perfect, I would come back and recommend!

Cat Ba is a wonderful base to explore Lan Ha Bay and go on a day cruise, a great alternative to the busier Ha Long Bay. Cat Ba Island is a bit harder to get to, but the tourist area is lovely, lots of stores, restaurants, boardwalk, lots of fun.

I was so glad we chose to stay in Viet Hai Village instead of Cat Ba Town region. We came to Cat Ba to experience the nature and tranquility and got just that in Viet Hai Village. Perfect location for taking a boat day trip round Lan Ha Bay for kayaking, swimming, fishing villages and caves.
Easy to hire a bike cheaply from Viet Hai to get around, or the homestay hosts could organise golf buggy to drive you around. No cars on the island.

Cat Ba was very beautiful.
Cat Ba was very beautiful. I would say, however, that you should always check the local news and tourist reviews to see if they have cleaned up the floating trash before you book your trip. Since Ha Long Bay became a popular tourist spot many years ago, a mountain of garbage and plastic waste has been polluting both Ha Long and Cat Ba bays. The government does respond with increased collection/cleaning efforts when the tourist complaints get loud enough, so always a good idea to check before you go.

I resisted going to Cat Ba for many years for various reasons and now I regret it. The island is very beautiful, easy to get around and seems to have less rubbish than Phu Quoc (not to mention it is considerably cheaper). There are many tourist facilities and the service is great. I would definitely come back to Cat Ba.

Beautiful island! Would recommend 3 full days here. We had one day renting a scooter and going to the national park (1h30 hike) and 2 caves near the National Park. Then we went on the night boat trip with kayaking & swimming to see the bioluminescence plankton. Then the next day we went on the Lan Ha Bay & Halong Bay boat trip with kayaking. Both trips were booked with Cat Ba Local who we'd highly recommend! Then the third day we walked around town to see the markets and went to the 3 beaches. Then hired a tandem bike in town in the evening! Lovely island so allow time to relax and enjoy it. It was very easy to get around and book any trips the day before via tour agencies or hotels.
Green homestay is on the outskirts of Cat Ba town in a very quiet area. The homestay itself is beautifully set up around a central pool area. My room was a nice size and overlooked the pool. The staff were amazing all around. The breakfast was included in the price and was slighty underwhelming. The towels were changed every day which is nice given the pool and beaches. I used one of their scooters every day for small fee to check out the island and go into town. keep an eye on your gas levels!
The moment I stepped into Paradise Cat Ba Hotel, I knew I had found a hidden gem. The rooftop pool offers breathtaking panoramic views of the island, making it feel like you're immersed in nature. The vibrant colors of the Sky Bar in the evening create a romantic atmosphere. My husband and I are really pleased to travel here.
The food here is not really rich. I hope that the hotel will improve the menu and breakfast quality to meet the diverse needs of guests
The service was very good and Mr. Eagle helped us a lot answering questions and organizing day tours in Cat Ba Island. He also helped u to travel further down south by organizing trips with the bus.
The location of the hotel is ver good as it is central and you can reach everything easily. The hotel also rents out scooters in case you like to explore the island via scooter.
This is one of the best Hotel in Vietnam that I have ever been too, especially for Cat Ba Island where you wouldn't have many choices for a cozy stay. The swimming pool is so nice, sky bar has a perfect view of Lan Ha bay. Beautifully designed and green hotel. The breakfast buffet is worth any coin you pay, delicious with various dishes.
Lovely, clean bungalows with friendly and helpful staff. We were a little out of the main town but the team at JoyStay helped us get to tours and activities. A secluded and immersive way to enjoy Cat Ba Island!
