Most travelers skip Haiphong. This is a mistake. If you travel to eat, don’t skip Haiphong. The food is interesting, delicious, varied and exceptional. We had the best Pho here that we’ve had in four trips to Vietnam.
The people of Haiphong are exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The city center has a lovely park running through it. The old colonial architecture is rundown in places but interesting to look at.
We stayed out of the old city in a modern development, but would stay in the center next time even though GRAB and the city bus are easy to use.

Food was great in Hai Phong. With a wide variety catering to other nationality. Seafood is still the freshest in Hai Phong but it is not my cup of tea. Hai Phong is more famous for it ship building and metal industries. So metal parts are normally cheaper in Hai Phong.

Hai Phong has virtually no tourist infrastructure and it very difficult to figure the place out. A lot of Internet references lead you to places that don't exist at the address mentioned. Finding food was challenging. No one speaks English. There really isn't a lot to look at anyway. Colonial quarter is nice sort of but there are better examples in Hanoi, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh city to name a few.
We found one brilliant restaurant. Best we found in Vietnam by a long way. It was called Nam Giao (22 Le Dai Hanh st). Go there if you are in town. You'll be blown away. Great beers on tap as well.

If you’re looking for a real Vietnamese city adventure, Hai Phong should be on your list. We literally saw no tourists. Everything is pure and the city has a couple of cool sights. The food is great and the cheapest of whole Vietnam.
The hotel is located a few steps from Hai Phong Railway Station in close proximity to the park in a new, modern building. Just around the corner is a bazaar where you can sample local specialities.
The room was large, bright, clean with a balcony and a beautiful view of the city. We had a small problem with the drain in the bathroom but it was quickly fixed by the staff. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hai Phong.
The room was great and clean. It is a big room and you have a large desk if you need to work. The staff was helpful and polite. The hotel is close to many restaurants and shops. It is on a small side alley close to the road, which means it's very quiet. The breakfast was nice as well - you have rice dishes, toast, soup, kimchi, fruits or cereal.
They have free parking and there is someone always checking the motorbikes.
The room was very spacious and everything was clean. The breakfast suited our tastes to the point where we thought it was a special menu just for our family.
In particular, Lily and Sue were very attentive to any inconveniences and were very friendly. Of all the hotel staff I've ever been to, these two staff were the best.
I regretted that the trip was short.
Although the hotel here is large, the price is very affordable, the rooms are fully equipped and have a panoramic view of the city. Especially since it's close to the center, it's very convenient for me to go on a food tour. The staff here are also enthusiastic. I recommend you come to Hai Phong if you want to find a hotel
It’s a very new property with Vietnamese aesthetic design. 🇻🇳✨The room was absolutely amazing with very good price and enough space. 😊 Comfortable beds provided with simple toiletries. Roy, the manager and reception staff were very helpful during our whole stay. 🤗We would definitely recommend this hotel. 🥰
The room is nice and there’s a small gym you have access to. Expected amenities are all there and shower is clean. 10/10 is mainly because the receptionist was super friendly. She had a lot of recommendations for great local food, helped me book a bus to Hanoi, and helped me top up my Vietnamese phone plan.
