It’s a new hotel, very nicely furnished. The location on the beach, as well as the views from the room/ balcony is amazing. The two pools have nice views as well. Very spacious, comfortable, well equipped rooms. The staff was really friendly. The breakfast is tasty and varied in a nice environment!

The hotel is conveniently located near/in Cat Ba centre. The room is big and clean. There was a musty smell at first but it did get better. The breakfast is included and good. The staff is really helpful, organising tours and transportation for you.

There is no beach in the bay. You have to travel further afield. It would be good to know when your chosen hotel/accommodation is on a steep hill.

Cat Ba is a nice spot to just chill. There is good accommodation around and lots of eating place to choose from. You can also spend 8 hours cruising on the bay if you wish with lunch included. The cruise was very enjoyable. Oasis restaurant on the main street is a great place to eat, drink or have a cup of coffee. The food is great there. They have a pool table there and it's free to play. If you want to go to the beach, it's near the Flamingo Resort which is a 20 minutes walk to the left of the main road if you're facing the bay.

We stayed in a Homestay 10Km outside Cat Ba and just went in to the town for some shopping and for the boat trip. Would recommend staying here rather than Halong Bay--much less crowded and opportunities for other activities eg trekking.

The full day trip on Lan ha bay with canoeing was exceptional - what a magnificent area, clear water, no rubbish and beautiful seascapes.
The hike into the National park was brilliant and well worth the effort. Easy to do on your own without a tour. The two caves were well worth the visit.
Several lovely little beaches within walking distance from town.
This is a good hotel with great staff in Cat Ba. We did arrive by night bus in the morning and they directly did offer us a breakfast while they were preparing our room for early check-in.
The staff is very customer focused and speaks good English. On the first day they did tell us about the highlights of the island and tips how to get to them.
They did help us arrange the buss to Ninh Binh and we did rent scooters for a good price, so we could easily travel all over the island.
Cat Ba Ecolodge is nicely located in picturesque and quiet part of Cat Ba island overlooking a water reservoir and jungle clad mountains. The resort has little pod-houses scattered on the mountainside each with double beds and a shower, and with a porch or terrace. The common area features a bar, pool table and sofas and is nice for hanging out.
The staff is friendly and comes with good daytrip suggestions, offers to help with motorbike rental and booking of bus trips etc
We just stayed for one evening so we didn't get a sense of the hotel. In the short stay of ours, we did manage to get a couple of cocktails up there. The place was ideal. There seemed to be a really handy tourist info place a couple of doors down from the hotel. They organized the transfer of ours to the port to capture the cruise as well as rented us a motor scooter so we might fly all over the island for the morning. I'd certainly stay here again.
This is a nice hotel to stay if visit Cát Bà. The price is excellent, the beds are good, nice and clean bathroom, very well located in the center. Tony is a very nice host, always with a smile and ready to assist you. I was going to stay for 2 nights and I stayed 5. I also booked the tour with them for a very good price and it was very nice. Cát Bà is a very lovely island, with amazing beaches and lovely views and really deserves a visit.
The hotel is located in the central island which is convenient for restaurants, tour companies and shops. The sea view room has great view of the harbor which is the same as in the picture. The room was quiet clean and comfortable. The hot shower was strong even the room was on the high floor. Breakfast was good considered inexpensive room rate. The owner was kind to make sure I had breakfast because of my check out time was before 7am.
Paradise Cat Ba Hotel exceeded all expectations! The location is stunning, with breathtaking views of the bay. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet and the infinity pool. The organized tours were also a highlight, allowing us to explore the beauty of Cat Ba Island. Overall, a truly magical experience, and we can't wait to return!
I can definitely recommend this hostel if you’re staying in Cat Ba. I was in a private room and it’s spacious and very clean. The people over there are very service oriented and share lots of activities you can do on the island. Breakfast is basic, but definitely good. The location is also perfect since you can easily walk everywhere, but since it’s not in a busy street you don’t have any noise.
Wonderful private property off cat ba island. we had a smooth boat transfer.Rooms were clean and towels and sheets were changed daily. The food was amazing and the bar was mesmerizing. wonderful and exquisite cocktails. we felt treated like a family. The sunset beach was also amazing. We also did a private tour of the ha long bay arranged by the resort. Thanks you Elvis and his hardworking team.

We loved this hotel so much we actually extended our stay. The room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, the view of the sunset from the balcony was amazing. The hotel is right by plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and they could not have done more to ensure we had a great stay on Cat Ba island. Julie, in particular, was great throughout.
The hotel was clean, well located and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our 3 day visit to Cat Ba Island was loaded with great experiences thanks to Chung the desk clerk. Chung helped us with getting a scooter rental, guiding us to the fueling point. He also got us laundry services, and gave great suggestions for a Ha Long Bay tour, currency exchange and area dining.
Very good hotel with double room for only 300,000 dong or 12 euros 70! Nothing to say about the room, it was very good and very good for that price. The women who runs this hotel is adorable and as helpful as possible! Only good things for this hotel! Not to be missed if you come to the island!
