Yorkway Motel, hotel in Pocklington

Situated just 14 miles from York city centre, the Yorkway Motel offers a restaurant, free WiFi access and free parking.

It was a lovely stay and the staff were really friendly and helpful. We chose to eat there the evening we stayed as we were tired and didn't want to venture out. The steak and chips was 5* The rooms were spacious, clean and had plenty of tea and coffee. And breakfast was delicious. I wouldn't definitely return and the price was great. We stayed as we were visiting the University of York's open day. Was only a 20 minute drive away.

I was only in Pocklington for three days, two nights.

I was only in Pocklington for three days, two nights. For my daughters wedding. The people were very friendly and all the shop owners were courteous, polite and very helpful. It appears to be a very nice place. As my daughter will be living on and off in a nearby village Bishop Wilton I will be staying in the Carpenters Cottage 28 Union Street. Ran by a lovely Couple Patrick and Helen. Beautiful small well equipped cottage, which I'm 100% in love with, and would love to live in it full-time. Lol I'll hopefully be able to see more of the town and gardens when I visit again. So far I love what I've seen. 👍for Pocklington and it's people. 👏👏👏

A lovely picturesque small market town. Xmas lights particularly impressive. Good choice of pubs, cafes, restaurants. Lots of independent traders and retailers with welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. 30 minute bus ride to York or Beverley so no need to use own transport.

    Very good meals.

Very good meals. Breakfast offered many choices, including full English breakfast. Very comfortable bed and spacious room. Near the town centre and all the facilities. Bus stop nearby. Bicycle storage available in locked place. Staff very helpful and friendly. Television in room. Kettle and drink refreshments provided in room. A lovely stay and plenty of places to visit in the area. Public living in the area could be very noisy at night in the early hours which can disturb light sleepers! Perhaps late night revelling happens? But anti social people not staying at the hotel are not the responsibility of the staff.

Everything was great from before we arrived.

Everything was great from before we arrived. They called to see what time we would arrive - we were 5 minutes away, but the call was appreciated. Very helpful once we got there, helped us to extend our stay so we didn't have to leave so early, pointed us in the direction of shops and onsite facilities. Where was stayed was lovely, it had everything we needed and was very clean - except for the big spider that kept trying to join us each night. The hot tub was clean and we could sit there and watch the little ducks and have breakfast with them. Was a nice stay

A lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable and a few minutes' walk from the centre of Pocklington. Freshly decorated and tasteful pictures and accessories. On-street parking along the road was possible each time we returned. Comfortable beds and wonderful ensuite showers. The pub two doors down does excellent real ale. Close to lovely footpaths - up the hill or along the canal. Plenty of restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk. sunny back yard but we had no time to sit out in it!

We went to Pocklington for a gig at the Arts Centre. Perfect location, just 5 mins stroll away from the cottage plus several pubs to have a meal before and drinks after the show. Several individual shops in town to look round and several historic/nature walks. Assembly Cottage is lovely, very clean, had everything required in the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms (shampoo, conditioner and bodywash was a nice touch), comfortable lounge with information on things to do and see in the area.

Accommodation is simple but well looked after - the owner is brilliant and clearly pays attention to detail. Facilities are well maintained, though missing some more modernised comforts such as a fridge in the room or a fan. No complaints overall though, a lovely little pub/hotel!

The location is in the centre of Pocklington and easy to get to and from and the room I stayed in was modern and very comfortable in a new building set apart from the Feathers itself. I did not have breakfast since I was meeting with family elsewhere so can't comment.
