A quiet Moors village, excellently located between Thirsk...
A quiet Moors village, excellently located between Thirsk and Pickering and perfectly situated for touring. The only downside is the lack of immediately local restaurants.. a pub that only opens 4 days a week, a chip shop and two Indian restaurants. However, just 5 mins along the Road to Helmsley and you are spoilt for choice... and if you enjoy Italian food you are in for a treat!

Nawton is a small village 2 miles from Helmsley on the A170 east, heading to Pickering.
Surprisingly for such a small place, it has a Public House the Red Lion, Its basic, but does no food. There is plenty of outside seating if needed on a nice day.
The village also has a fish and chip shop and a decent Indian Restaurant and takeaway called Fusion Spice.

Nawton is really just a very small village with only one pub...
Nawton is really just a very small village with only one pub on the road from Hemsley to the coast, so sorry not much to say about it, However, Hemsley is only a couple of miles away and is a really lovely small town with lots of cafes and gift shops in beautiful surroundings. Friendly people. No major supermarket that I could see but a small Co-op and one other grocery store. Wonderful small new outlet going off the main street leading to some nice household and gift shops and a really good greengrocer.

Just a little remote.
Just a little remote. There were only two restaurants within walking distance. Some really excellent restaurants but it was necessary to drive to these. Public transport poor and taxis very expensive. Having said all that, Nawton is a peaceful, nice area
Friendly and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Nice, quiet location down a side street in Nawton. Easy to get to Helmsley and other places of interest such as Hutton le Hole (excellent local history museum). On-site parking and Wi-fi are great. Only downside was poor mobile reception in the area.
