The staff were fantastic. Friendly, accommodating, and professional. Nothing too much trouble.
Location was great for me, I needed a bit of isolation but with access to facilities, of which there are many.
Many eateries in the area too, not to mention the supermarkets and fast food nearby.
Natural beauty can be found close by in The Peak District National Park and in the traditional Yorkshire villages and countryside which surrounds Lyndene.

Breakfast was fantastic. Room was fantastic. We were visiting relations so location was great for us. This was our second visit so that speaks volumns, wouldn't have come back if it wasn't any good! Paul and Sophie were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Hope to return next year if not before.
Coddy's Farm is located on a working farm on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Rooms can be booked on a bed and breakfast basis or the whole barn hired as a self catering holiday home.

Rowena was delightful and so accommodating with our later check in. The location for what we needed was perfect. Accommodation was clean, tidy, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious & cooked to order.

Stunning location. 5-10 min walk to town centre (uphill on the way back). Gorgeous spacious oriental themed guest room, with hospitality tray (including glass tumblers and wine glasses), comfy double bed. Sofa, smart tv and stunning large en-suite with the biggest walk in shower I have ever seen. There is a bath too. Towels provided, together with hand and body wash. Hairdryer in room. Immaculately clean. All hosted by the lovely Stacey (and her handsome cat Miles). We were given a very warm welcome and will return to explore Holmfirth further.
I was travelling due to work in the area. The Dog and Partridge Inn is quite Remote but a first class accommodation that suited me.
The accommodation is absolutely how you would expect a country Inn to be. Well furnished spotlessly clean, comfortable and cozy with ample car parking. The staff are most helpful, polite and friendly. The Evening meal and Breakfast was first class and a wide selection of local produce professionally presented.
I will definitely be going out of my way to stay at the Dog and Partridge again.

We were there to attend a family wedding. Probably would not have chosen the location for any other reason.
Walks and local pub/restaurants are good.
We eat in the Dog and Partridge - excellent - also the Wagon and Horses, Langsett - excellent.

Langsett was the near by resevoir.
Langsett was the near by resevoir. We stayed here for a motorcycle trip to the Peak District. It suited us very well as we set off from the hotel daily and visited Bakewell, Buxton area, Matlock Bath aswell as doing several well known motorcycle routes. Although we were still in South Yorkshire we found it an ideal spot for our purpose.

Ignore the sat-Nav - the hotel is on the A628.
Ignore the sat-Nav - the hotel is on the A628. The twin room has no bath, the beds creak loudly ever time you move, so a disturbed night. Good job we weren't in a hurry as the breakfast service was unbelievably slow.
