Lovely location, beautifully decorated room, great tea/coffee facilities (loved the little fridge with fresh milk as I hate UHT!), clean and fresh bathroom with plenty of towels.
We arrived late after our wedding just after midnight - the staff had very kindly given me the front door fob and given me directions to the room so we could go straight in. The staff had sweetly left the lights on with the radio playing which was a lovely welcome after a long day!
The breakfast on our first morning was delicious and reasonably priced too.
Sadly, as the pub is closed on Mondays, we were unable to have breakfast there but the checkout procedure was very easy and simple with clear instructions provided well in advance of our stay.

My stay here was booked as a treat by my wife, and a treat it was! Although only a brief 2 night stay, it was exceptional. Janet and her husband were very welcoming on my arrival and throughout my stay. The accommodation is well situated away from the main road in a quiet area, but at the same time, it is well located for a visit to the Imperial War Museum Duxford, which is where I was headed during my stay. The B&B is exceedingly well appointed and very comfortable. The interior is tastefully decorated with a nice touch of class. I was able to come and go as I needed. The bedroom was very comfortable indeed and had everything I required - ensuite, internet, coffee making facilities etc. The breakfast was spectacular! Plenty of variety and enough to set me up for the whole day! Janet was even kind enough to present me with a small cake with a candle for my birthday, which I celebrated during my stay. A lovely, thoughtful touch from a welcoming host. Thank you! :-)

Chequer Cottage and it’s owners were most welcoming. The room was cosy and tastefully decorated with the little details that made it a special stay. Fantastic.
No WiFi. There is absolutely nothing to do in the area if you don’t have a car so an alternative form of entertainment would be appreciated. They mentioned a streaming service was available it wasn’t. There were no instructions left for any of the appliances so it was trial and error. There were no bin bags in the bins, no instructions on where to leave the rubbish. There were inadequate power points in the kitchenette. You had to unplug something behind an appliance to use anything. The smell of damp was horrendous. The bin facilities consisted of a waste paper basket. Useless when you are cooking meals. Was given instructions last minute for entering the property. Felt like i was a criminal as they didn’t let me know how to get into the property till I was there. Didn’t receive instructions on how to leave the property until I was 100 miles away. Would definitely not stay there again.

We had our pet dog traveling together.
We had our pet dog traveling together. This property accepted a dog, even in the restaurant. And, we really liked the style of the cottage. It was well renovated and felt very comfortable. We spent such a nice holiday stay in this property.
