Chipping Sodbury is a small town with a High Street with an array of small shops. It is steeped in history and is a pleasant place to wander round, enjoy the cafes/pubs and other eateries. There is a Waitrose supermarket. There are walks all around through green fields and rolling hills.

If you want Sunday mid day meal book in advance as this is a very popular place to eat as the chef is good. Do have the breakfast - it's the best breakfast around for miles ! Staff are all very well trained and obliging and have been here a while - which is a good recommendation as they know their job well & are all good at it.
The area is good for walking and also near some national trust properties & Bath & Bristol city centre are all within easy driving distance. The cotswolds are on the doorstep. Chipping Sodbury has some very good shops - the bakers with the butchers next door should be visited. In December they have a Mop Fair - worth seeing & the Main Street through Chipping Sodbury is closed, while people sell things on stalls and dress up in old costumes- all this is within a 5 minute walk or less if you walk fast, of The Bell !

I absolutely loved the house and location. The hosts were extremely caring and respectful of me as a guest. They took very good care of me and made me a lovely full english breakfast. The room was clean and bed was very comfortable. I spent several hours just looking out the window at the farmland and open spaces. There was plenty of free parking on their property, secured by a gate. It is a family home in a quiet and calm rural area. I would definitely stay there again.
Room was in the annex block, it was spacious, clean and comfortable with quality tea/coffee facilities and a nice bathroom. The hotel was perfectly located for the start of our final day's walking the Cotswold Way. The cask beer was good and we both enjoyed a good meal much appreciated after 10 hours walking; better than your average pub grub in a popular restaurant. The busy manager was very attentive to our needs.
Opted for this accommodation as opposed to a budget hotel room for a stopover to break our journey. We'll worth the few pounds extra, much more luxurious accommodation. So glad we stayed here. Excellent accommodation, nice "breakfast option" included (fruit, croissant, tea coffee ). Very welcoming host. Would not hesitate to recommend. And, an added bonus, a pub with great food nearby (The Bell Inn)
We stayed here with family for our wedding in chipping sodbury and it was fabulous. A grand and beautiful property with everything we needed and more including a four poster bed, a luxurious bath in the room, and drinks in the fridge! Check in was easy and clear and the hosts were so welcoming and thoughtful. Definitely recommended.
Best accommodation within the area including Chipping Sodbury. Have been on a work contract for 12 months and although I have tried numerous bed and breakfasts the Bell has always been the best by far. The quality of rooms is fantastic and so is the food and customer service. Massive thanks to all those at the Bell.
The location was ideal for a peaceful stay near open countryside, but close to amenities of Yate and Chipping Sodbury. The house is very spacious and well equipped, including washing machine and freezer to ideal for a longer stay. I would definitely stay again when visiting family in the area.
The location was ideal for access to Yate and Chipping Sodbury while Bath and Bristol are not too far away. There is a wide choice of food on offer at breakfast with the full english breakfast an excellent choice.
The inn is absolutely lovey and I had a really pleasant stay. I booked this accommodation due to work but If I ever found myself in the area for personal reasons I would certainly stay here again
The staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. Location was good and though parking is not available at the hotel, there was sufficient on street parking close to the hotel.
We loved the reception given us by Richard - never had that before in a hotel. A truly lovely couple and I have already told some friends about Windylands. Couldn't fault it. Lo vely famioly.
A great place to stay between Bristol and London. Genial host, Richard. Wifi worked perfectly, whihc was essential for me that evening. Substantial breakfast with good veggie option.
Nice little hotel. Great food (dinner and breakfast), great service and importantly, super clean! The bedroom was decorated nicely and the bed was super comfy too!
I really enjoyed my stay and will be my go to in the future for when I have to work in the area.
Breakfast was fantastic and the hosts were exceptional.
