The decor and toiletries in the bedroom were really lovely. The staff were efficient and friendly. We had an evening meal which was excellent as was the breakfast. It was a perfect location for the walk we did from Monsal Head.

Good location in the village with a good pub with excellent food (best to book as can be busy). Peaceful and only a short drive to Bakewell, Chatsworth, Buxton and other Peak District places. Some lovely walks from the village although as to be expected it is hilly! Could easily spend a week touring the area.

the good bits: it is a small village that offers peace and quiet, hiking routes with great views of landscape and farming animals, and a pub. an ideal option for escaping from fast pace, busy city life.
the things to bear in mind: need a car to get there, no supermarket, poor or sometimes no phone signal in the village (so plz check for WiFi access when you book your stay)
