Good location in the village with a good pub with excellent food (best to book as can be busy). Peaceful and only a short drive to Bakewell, Chatsworth, Buxton and other Peak District places. Some lovely walks from the village although as to be expected it is hilly! Could easily spend a week touring the area.

the good bits: it is a small village that offers peace and quiet, hiking routes with great views of landscape and farming animals, and a pub. an ideal option for escaping from fast pace, busy city life. the things to bear in mind: need a car to get there, no supermarket, poor or sometimes no phone signal in the village (so plz check for WiFi access when you book your stay)

Lovely village with typical stone buildings in an area ideal for walkers. The Church Inn public house serves some fantastic home made pies and fresh produce, not your typical pud grub, a cut above the rest! Mine Host, Justin is very welcoming and obliging. Hope to get back for a longer holiday soon.
