The whole experience at Brown Rigg was excellent. It far exceeded our expectations. The communal kitchen was very clean and it felt safe to leave our bits in the fridge with others thigs to. Our room was very clean and comfortable and it was very quiet round about and set off the main road so felt very safe as well especially if you had kids. Nice to see the sheep in the firlds as well. Just out of the vvillage but walkable distance if you like. The village has some interesting buildings and a very good Heritage Centre giving alot of local information

Ideal for our one night stop over, but would love to stay for longer.
Located within the heart of the newly appointed Dark Sky Park, the Hollybush Inn is just 7 miles from Kielder Water. The Hollybush Inn offers stylish rooms and a contemporary self-contained apartment....

I had the best night's sleep in weeks at Hollybus Inn. The small single room is out the back (entry to that room is via the courtyard). It seems like this was a former storage area, as the blocked-up door can still be seen in the room. It just about fits a very comfortable single bed and a small shower/toilet. It was very warm and cosy and all I really needed for my one-night stay. There was tea/coffee and even a hairdryer. Everybody was super friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again if I am back in the area. Also its very close to Kielder Water.

Dinner menu was modestly priced , as it should be the food was only modest. We do not eat cooked breakfast and I can only say the continental option was aweful.
This hotel is seems mainly to be used by groups of hikers whom I assume get special rates. It also seems to be aiming to be a wedding venue, cricket club and an outdoor beer garden. Certainly not a upmarket hotel.
It is however in a stunning location.

This is my first time staying in Bellingham for leisure.
This is my first time staying in Bellingham for leisure. I sometimes travel through on my way to work in Kielder and around Northumberland so have never got to experience the town proper. Some great places to eat including the Fountain Cottage and Happy Valley and cute local shops such as Olive and Myrtle and Natural Northumberland. Recently our friends opened their brewery at the old ambulance station, F&L (First & Last) which also has a tap room opened 09.12.2022 - this addition to the town and previous positive visits will ensure my return for both work and leisure

Lovely little village.
Lovely little village.
A few good places to eat out, even for coeliacs.
Co-op grocery store and some very nice little gift shops.
Visitor centre was very interesting.
Great location for visiting Kielder Observatory, Kielder Water, Vindolanda and Housesteads Roman Forts, Hadrian's Wall and Hexham - 30 mins from them all by car.
Everyone I met in the village and surrounding area was very helpful and friendly too.

Whilst technically a village, Bellingham punches well above the weight of its size - being the obvious local focus for a wide rural area. It is well provided for in terms of shops (including specialist butcher, bakers etc.) and plenty for tourists. It has multiple pubs, a couple of which (the Cheviot and Riverdale Hall) I can recommend from personal experience. Local beers were on hand pump and of high standard. The walking (particularly the Pennine Way) is of an excellent and picturesque quality.
Spacious, clean, renovated to a high standard, comfortable bed, great shower, cottage warm with an efficient heating source. Spa bath was great too. Own parking. Quiet and peaceful location with lovely views from property. Friendly welcoming host. Very nice welcome pack of biscuits and wine. Local supermarket 3 minutes drive down the road and the local people are friendly and helpful. The heritage centre in Bellingham is also well worth a visit with knowledgeable volunteers about the history of the area.
The lodges are 0.5 mile from Bellingham, surrounded in hills and farmland. Very quiet and relaxing. The owners met us and we’re extremely friendly and helpful. Provided us with a cot / high chair with no extra cost.
For what we paid we got more then what we wanted.
Large spacious lodge with a cosy atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Plenty of amenities and great parking.
It was perfect value for money We will 100% be back!
Cozy and comfy accommodation, hosted with love and care, felt like a home. Well-equipped kitchen. Bellingham is pretty small but the accommodation was right next to the stores and two pubs, as well as to the start of the beautiful Hareshaw Linn Walk to a waterfall. Contact with the hostess was quick and easy. It was an hour's drive to Alnwick and half an hour's drive to some great Hadrian's Wall walks.
Great location in centre of Bellingham with private car park. Clean, comfortable, modern en-suite rooms with all you would expect in a hotel (let alone B&B). Breakfast was a highlight but also had an evening meal which was equally as good. Staff were friendly and accommodating moving our dinner reservation when we came in early and hungry after a day out biking
Great location and nice and cosy cottage. Bellingham is a lovely little county town. A very nice touch to see that a bag of logs had been left for the wood burner which did a great job of heating the place. Kitchen facilities were more than adequate. We were all very impressed as to what we got for our budget.
The staff were lovely and attentive, the room was comfortable and clean, great shower. The location is fab, right in the centre of Bellingham, with a few pubs nearby and a little shop across the road. We also ate in the cafe on the Saturday night and the food was really nice for the price. Breakfast was also great.
The cottage was lovely and so different. The decor is amazing! There is no other word but quirky. I want to say more but I won't! As you have to see it for yourselves!
It was very comfortable & being a little way out of Bellingham it was quite. The facilities were also great.
Bellingham is such a charming village. It was absolutely beautiful. The B&B and cafe were very tidy. The food was delicious. There are lovely hikes to go on as well.
This delightful cottage is a perfect base to explore Northumberland and had everything needed. Bellingham is a friendly place too so would highly recommend a visit.
