Great service, exceptionally clean room and superb pub.
Converted from an 18th-century farmstead, Battlesteads is a stylish country inn with en suite rooms and an 80-seat restaurant. It is set in beautiful countryside close to the Roman Wall

The facilities were very good but the WiFi went down which was not the fault of the proprietors, it was a BT issue. I enjoyed my stay which is just as well because it was expensive to be honest, at least twice as expensive of where I normally stay in the same area. The food was ok but nothing special in my opinion and again quite expensive. To be fair the room I occupied was the most expensive due to there being no others available and it was lovely. Would I use this place again? Yes if there was no alternative. By the way the staff were very good, excellent in fact. And the locals are great people.
We stayed at The Fountain Cottage and Cafe. Beautiful accommodation, room was lovely, bathroom gorgeous with super shower. The food was delicious and staff were so nice, really helpful. I'll definitely be back. Lovely village with great walks and a great selection of shops. Highly recommend.

This is my first time staying in Bellingham for leisure.
This is my first time staying in Bellingham for leisure. I sometimes travel through on my way to work in Kielder and around Northumberland so have never got to experience the town proper. Some great places to eat including the Fountain Cottage and Happy Valley and cute local shops such as Olive and Myrtle and Natural Northumberland. Recently our friends opened their brewery at the old ambulance station, F&L (First & Last) which also has a tap room opened 09.12.2022 - this addition to the town and previous positive visits will ensure my return for both work and leisure

Lovely little village.
Lovely little village.
A few good places to eat out, even for coeliacs.
Co-op grocery store and some very nice little gift shops.
Visitor centre was very interesting.
Great location for visiting Kielder Observatory, Kielder Water, Vindolanda and Housesteads Roman Forts, Hadrian's Wall and Hexham - 30 mins from them all by car.
Everyone I met in the village and surrounding area was very helpful and friendly too.

Whilst technically a village, Bellingham punches well above...
Whilst technically a village, Bellingham punches well above the weight of its size - being the obvious local focus for a wide rural area. It is well provided for in terms of shops (including specialist butcher, bakers etc.) and plenty for tourists. It has multiple pubs, a couple of which (the Cheviot and Riverdale Hall) I can recommend from personal experience. Local beers were on hand pump and of high standard. The walking (particularly the Pennine Way) is of an excellent and picturesque quality.

A lovely town with everything we needed.
A lovely town with everything we needed. Co-op, pharmacy, bakers, tea rooms and pubs. Beautiful walk by the river and an interesting church yard and well/spring.
A trip to the waterfall is worth doing and visiting the information centre too. Nice cakes at the train carriage tea rooms.
The cottage has recently had a top quality refurbishment and everything is tip top!..bathroom has an enormous spa bath (fab) and a shower, 2 large bedrooms, very comfortable good sized and attractive lounge and a fully fitted kitchen, lovely garden to front overlooking fields, pics on Booking.com do not do it justice, Bellingham is a lovely village with several pubs, cafe's and shops..Hadrians wall 25 min drive away and many walks from the door, hosts were lovely and helpful, what a find..we loved it
I stayed at the Brown Rigg Guest Rooms whilst cycling the Sandstone Way at the end of May. The staff were very helpful and there was a secure cycle storage available. The accommodation is on the edge of Bellingham but it was only a short walk to the village for cafes, shop, pub food, etc. The was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The place has an interesting history which the owner explained. Great shower and bathroom.
Great location in centre of Bellingham with private car park. Clean, comfortable, modern en-suite rooms with all you would expect in a hotel (let alone B&B). Breakfast was a highlight but also had an evening meal which was equally as good. Staff were friendly and accommodating moving our dinner reservation when we came in early and hungry after a day out biking
The staff were lovely and attentive, the room was comfortable and clean, great shower. The location is fab, right in the centre of Bellingham, with a few pubs nearby and a little shop across the road. We also ate in the cafe on the Saturday night and the food was really nice for the price. Breakfast was also great.
The cottage was lovely and so different. The decor is amazing! There is no other word but quirky. I want to say more but I won't! As you have to see it for yourselves!
It was very comfortable & being a little way out of Bellingham it was quite. The facilities were also great.
The house is very spacious and very comfortable!! The owners have done a fantastic job of supplying everything you could ever need!. Bellingham itself is a really interesting village and the local people were welcoming and helpful!
Bellingham is such a charming village. It was absolutely beautiful. The B&B and cafe were very tidy. The food was delicious. There are lovely hikes to go on as well.
