An Evening meal was served to a large party during a busy night for the hotel. The food was served hot and well presented all together. There was no issue with any meal. This indicates an organised and well run kitchen and service team. The staff were friendly and professional. The rooms are mostly ground floor with parking directly outside French Doors. They are clean and the bathroom facilities are good. Handy for the heritage steam train and local sights such as Beamish. Would like to thank the staff for a nice stay.

Breakfast very good. Had dinner once in our stay also very good. Menu remained the same so that might be a problem for some. Stayed in a castle room which was excellent. The bar was great and plenty of local walks

Lovely room with king size bed which was very comfortable. Great location for what we wanted.
Restaurant food was very good.
Very small things that took it from very good to good were batteries in remote not working and new ones took approx 30 minutes To arrive.
Hairdryer filter very dirty and honestly hairdryers could do with an upgrade!

Lovely hotel we could get a snack and drink when we arrived.
Lovely hotel we could get a snack and drink when we arrived. Evening meals in the restaurant were first class good selection. Breakfast was great and the lovely staff were local so full of knowledge.
The only fly in the ointment was one night when they had two large parties and it was left to us to move and find a quieter place to eat.
