Wonderful, World Heritage-listed Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.
Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.
Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the River Avon overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-levelled Pulteney Weir and Grade I-listed Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options are the Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and high street stores on Milsom and George streets.
North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.
Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath accommodation, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.
Bath is such a beautiful city. We loved all the wonderful architecture. We went on the open top bus tours so you get to see so much more, learning all the way.
So many wonderful places to dine. We tried several!
It found it so lovely strolling around after we had eaten. Such a vibrant city!

Hop on and off bus was good
Roman bath was better than expected
Bath abbey was disappointed, a very plain church, not worth the money, churches should be free to enter
Also charges to enter a public park by the river very greedy of bath councillors

Bath was beautiful, lots to do and see, do the bus tours, very useful, visit the royal crescent, including number one. Better than the Jane Austin visitor centre. Do visit Wells nearby, do the cathedral tour in Wells , was a highlight for us. Roman Baths obviously good, but a bit pricy, and book it in advance. Bath is worth a visit! When in Wells eat in the pressior

Bath is a very historic place obviously ( I was born and lived in Oxford until my late 20s so understand tourism )
Everything is very expensive which would make you have to decide what to visit if funds were restricted or time was limited
I believe that anyone with a UK passport or Birth Certificate should get a discounted entry rate

We enjoyed the compact nature of the city centre, which we could amble about on foot. The open-topped tourist bus was a good way to get an overview of Bath at the start of our holiday. We particularly enjoyed visiting the Abbey for Choral Evensong - the choir was amazing - also the Jane Austen Centre and the Roman Baths. But it was also nice to spend time sitting in the square by the Abbey, listening to the bell-ringers and excellent buskers, and watching the world go by from pavement cafes when weather permitted.
The Boathouse had the best guest room I have ever stayed at. It was spotlessly clean, the bed was so comfortable and the decor was quirky and fun. Having the balcony looking out over the river gave us a great space to get fresh air and enjoy the view.
The pub and restaurant carried on with the quirky decor and made for a relaxing area to sit and eat. A big shout out to the staff, especially Chloe, who made our stay really special.
Having the park and ride next door was great as it made getting in and out of Bath city centre really easy.
This is a lovely, modern flat. Very clean, beautifully decorated and well appointed with great appliances. Adequate dishes and pots and pans for our 4 day stay. Also quite warm and the heat was easy to regulate. Heated floors were a luxury. We were in Bath for our daughter’s convocation from the University of Bath. Other family members stayed in a nearby hotel. The flat was large enough for us to have them over for an evening of pizza. Two bedroom and two bath unit was a real find.
Beautiful hotel. Rooms clearly newly refurbished. Staff super helpful. Perfect place just outside Bath. Will definitely be recommending this hotel to anyone that plans to go there. The most amazing time! Food was superb! Couldn't fault anything! Truly the best part of the trip! Couldn't get over how beautiful the rooms were!! The fields around the hotel gave it a more relaxing feeling which allowed for beautiful views of the sunset. Couldn't recommend this place more!!!!
Just returned from a wonderful 1 night stay at Francis Hotel Bath. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, with a special thanks to Gemms who made my partners birthday a special one. Location was perfect and hotel was everything as described. Room was spacious , clean with a very comfortable bed and great shower. Breakfast was very tasty in a with a wonderful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to staying here again.
The location was perfect. The trails and views were amazing . Transportation to town was really cheap and easy. The bus runs every 15 mins. Free parking with your stay. The rooms were really new with lots of storage space. Loads of power outlets. Very clean and tidy. Checking in and out was very simple. The staff were exceptional. 100% customer service. Alot better than hotels . Definately recommended to any Bath explorers.
An absolutely perfect hotel, the best experience I have ever had. The exceptional interior and attention to detail. Such a comfy bed, beautiful robe and slippers. The spa was exceptional! Bucket list moment! Staff were incredible, nothing was too much trouble, they truly went above and beyond for us, especially Elly! Perfect location, close to so many beautiful parts of Bath, I can’t wait to visit again!
We had a very pleasant stay for 5 nights.
The room was extremely spacious, very comfortable & extremely clean.
The staff are helpful, officiant & friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
The location is within easy walking distance to the city centre or 2 minutes away by a regular bus service so no need to worry about the car.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want to visit Bath .
Excellent location - hotel just a 10-min walk from Bath Spa train station and located at Bath City Centre, so very close to restaurants, pubs and cafes; Our room and bathroom were super clean; We had great breakfast at the hotel for an extra of £15 pp; The staff was very friendly and helpful and accommodated all of our requests; We are definitely going back!
Steps away from the station, yet at the same time in the very heart of Bath, The Hotel Indigo was a real treat after criss-crossing the country, visiting universities. Elegant, yet not stuffy, with very friendly staff, we had an unexpectedly large room with an equally large bathroom, beautiful sheets and a delicious breakfast (and dinner!).
Hotel was literally in the City Centre. Great location. Had booked a no window room but we were upgraded to a room with a view of the rooftops .... was wonderful to wake in the morning to see the roof tops of Bath and the church spire.
They happily kept our bags safe prior to check in and then the following day after check out. Thank you.
We took the best room in the hotel because I concluded that from the window you could see Bath Abbey. The room was spacious, the bed was excellent, we had eggs benedict for breakfast, and all the questions we had were answered by the very friendly receptionist with glasses. Fantastic hotel and not too expensive. I recommend it to anyone.
Perfect hotel in great location, about 10 min walk to most of the popular attractions/ city centre.
Very clean and cosy room.
Tasty fresh breakfast served by chefs.
Great atmosphere, lovely and helpful staff. Thank you to Magdalena for giving us some tips how to make the best of Bath and for making our stay special ❤️
The Yard in Bath is a sweet little boutique hotel. The rooms are cozy and we never tired of the breakfast hamper the staff delivered every morning. Speaking of the staff, they were friendly and helpful and they provide a list of "hidden gem" pubs and restaurants to visit in Bath.

Hotel was a 10-15 min walk from Bath City centre through the lovely hotel gardens and Stanley gardens, there is a great spa with indoor and outdoor pools, bed was large and super comfortable. The staff at reception were very polite and friendly.
Lovely new hotel in Bath. Friendly staff, lovely clean bedrooms and bathrooms. Central location and good breakfast. I arrived at 11.30 and the room was ready to check in early which was great. Would recommend.
The hotel was exceptional. Room was large with a beautiful bathroom with rain shower head. Additionally there was a large claw bathtub too. The staff was helpful and courteous.
Good location £8 Uber ride from city centre, so a lot cheaper overall than Bath hotels. Friendly host and Japanese theme. Nice part of the city in Landsdowne area.
Beautiful little hotel in a great location near Bath City Center. Joel and all the hotel staff were very helpful. The included breakfast was really good.
