FAQs about hotels in Bath

Roman Remains and Georgian Grandeur

Wonderful, World Heritage-listed Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.

Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.

Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the River Avon overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-levelled Pulteney Weir and Grade I-listed Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options are the Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and high street stores on Milsom and George streets.

North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.

Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath accommodation, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

We went to Bath to go to the Theatre Royal to see the excellent Mind Mangler show. Bath itself is very busy and full of tourists, mostly foreign. There is a huge car park in Charlotte Street, that offers 24 hour parking for £17. Which as our Hotel had a tiny car park that was full was needed. The attractions like the famous baths are very busy and in my opinion at £27 per person expensive. But then it is Bath!

I didn’t get to do much as wished to due to the weather but I made the most of it. There are many buses including tourists open buses. I got to try different restaurants and it was great. If you care about high standards of hygiene/cleanliness, Bath is the place for you.

Bath was beautiful so much to see and do. Very busy with a lot of atmosphere, we would highly recommend the Thermae Spa it was lovely. Also the food at The Ivy was amazing and would suggested booking early. The afternoon tea at The Pump Rooms was fantastic, you can see the Roman Baths from the tea rooms side window. A lovely, stylish hotel in the perfect location to explore Bath. The room was as nice as advertised, with a large very comfortable bed. Complimentary amenities and quality bath products were appreciated. The breakfast is pricey but good (it would be great if the menu included a more simple option vs the whole English Breakfast, but staff were great in adjusting to my preference).

We had a very stylish room on the ground floor, which we requested as the hotel very thoughtfully sent a message before our arrival warning us that there were rooms on 4 floors.. We also were able to park in the private parking area just across the road. The breakfast basket was delicious, and great quality. Great location for exploring Bath, very central.

The location is great---steps from the Roman Baths and restaurants and shops. The hotel is novel---all rooms open on a central courtyard and it's in an historic building. Our two rooms were perfect for our group of 5 (4 adults, one teenager). The kitchen was very functional so we were able to eat breakfast together in the room.
