Great communication before arrival with Jo the host who along with her husband Bernie made us so welcome. The accommodation is perfect, clean, spacious and everything we needed for our short break. A lovely welcome hamper was left in our room with delicious bacon, eggs, bread, yogurts, croissants, milk, cereals, tea and coffee. The bed was so comfy so a good night sleep wasn't a problem. Askrigg is a beautiful little village with 3 pubs who all serve lovely food. There is also a small local shop and a cafe/deli. Perfect location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. We highly recommend the property and the location.
By the spectacular Aysgarth Falls in Yorkshire, this charming country inn offers a restaurant, 2 outdoor terraces, and wood-burning stoves for the colder months.

The GD was everything we expected! A lovely country pub! The bedroom and facilities were exceptional and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. Evening meals very good!

We stay at Askrigg each year. It’s very handy for local attractions like The forbidden corner, Bolton castle, Brimham Rocks and suchlike. There are food markets and occasionally craft fairs The waterfalls nearby make a good shortish walk, leyburn shawl another. We keep to about 5 miles as my hip is dodgy. Obviously there are longer, interesting walks to do. Aysgarth is easy to find with the falls. We shop at leyburn co op to stock up for the stay.
We have eaten at The Kings Arms in Askrigg ( good food) but tend to cook ourselves.

Lovely village, good facilities for day to day needs in local shop, hotel restaurants, coffee shop/bakery etc. Good bus service to other interesting local places to visit e.g. Hawes. Parking is obviously under pressure, we were out of main season so had no problem but can imagine that may be different at peak times.
Locals were all pleasant and helpful, it is just a lovely location to spend time - particularly if you are a James Heriot fan.

A relatively small village but in a good location for the places we planed to visit - Hawes, Ravenseat, Leyburn and Middleham.
It has 3 village pubs serving meals, and all in a short walking distance. We had evenings meals in two of them and both were very good.
The small village shop closed at 5:30pm, and the nearest was approx 6 miles away

Absolutely beautiful - lovely town, ease of shops and so many amazing walks to explore. Great location to easily get to others. Short walk away from stepping stones and waterfalls - if you’re into long walk / treks!
Ruth’s and Stu’s cottage ‘The Roost’ is welcoming, cosy and you want for nothing! Askrigg and the cottage are the perfect starting point to explore the Dales (and even the Lake District, if you don’t mind the drive)! Inside the cottage, the living room was comfy, the bathroom quite spacious with a bath and a separate Mira shower, which was amazing, and the bed in the main bedroom was also very comfortable! The kitchen is small, but perfectly equipped! They really have thought of everything! We will definitely be back!
Breakfast was absolutely delicious and cooked to order. The location in the centre of Askrigg was great. The evening meals were also very delicious. The room had armchairs which make for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The bed was extremely comfortable. Constant running hot water too. Would stay again.
Fabulous location in the lovely village of Askrigg. The room was beautifully furnished and comfortable. Limited facilities and space for self catering so if you are wanting to cook most meals then probably not for you. The Tristan room had wonderful views, the Austin didn't have much of a view.
A nice clean, quiet cottage with good facilities in the lovely village of Askrigg. Lots of great walks from the door and some very nice pubs in the village.
