This hotel is exceptional in many ways - not least the quality of the catering. We would gladly return there in future, confident that their planned major refurbishment in 2025 will achieve its aim.
Charming residence in the heart of the Loire Valley Castles, “LE MANOIR LES MINIMES” is located in an exceptional setting with its view of the Royal “Château d'Amboise” overlooking the river.

We come to Amboise every year. It is a good base for exploring the Loire, being situated between Blois and Tours. There are many chateaux in the area, Chenonceaux, Chaumont, and not forgetting Amboise. Amboise has a good market on a Sunday along the banks of the Loire.
There are lots of vineyards and caves surrounding Amboise. We went wine and food matching on this last trip at caves ambacia. Also some good restaurants - la brèche for a special occasion if you can get in.
Our children have enjoyed the Clos de Luca, the mini parc de Chateau, and the nearby Aquarium de Touraine, always good for a rainy day.
It's possible to take boat trips on the Loire (Vouvray), and the Cher (near Montrichard)
Amboise is very walkable and easy to get around. If travelling by car, parking is near to the centre of town. The train station is situated on the opposite bank of the Loire.
Go visit it's a beautiful town. A place close to our hearts.

We loved Amboise, very easy to walk anywhere you want to go.
We loved Amboise, very easy to walk anywhere you want to go. The restaurants are all welcoming, The food was excellent. But remember you are in the country side everything stops serving at 8:00 pm, you are not in Paris. We rented a car it is the easiest way to see the surrounding area.

Amboise is absolutely charming!
Amboise is absolutely charming! Chateau Amboise is one of my favorites and Clos Luce is a must as Leonardo da Vinci's last home. I was there in February for only 2 nights, so unfortunately, the Garage de l'Art was closed. However, I did meet Fernand Martin-Dumagny, the owner and artist, across the street at the brewery. Everyone was very kind and hospitable; I really wish I had more time to enjoy this lovely town!

If you want to be surrounded by Americans when you are in a foreign country then Amboise is the place for you. On the positive side, my traveling companion became ill while we were in Amboise, and I felt perfectly comfortable going out in the evening by myself. In a larger city, that might not have been th case. Similarly, it was easy to get in and out of Amboise to see many other sites in the Loire Valley

If you are considering a trip to the Loire Valley, we recommend Amboise as the hub. Why? It's a charming village right on the Loire River with it's own chateau right in the town. Much smaller than Tours, close to the rail line, affordable and attractive hotels and B&Bs, and close to premier chateaux such as Chenonceau and Chambord. Lots of restaurants and cute shops.

Beautiful buildings and numerous sites to explore and lots...
Beautiful buildings and numerous sites to explore and lots of restaurant choices all within walking distance of the B&B. We even found a wonderful little brew pub ("Art is an Ale") with locals enjoying the beers.
It was spacious and comfortable. Great place for us to relax after sightseeing. Kitchen was fully equipped and great. Bathroom seemed brand new. it was nice meeting Laurence and she communicated all the information we needed. We were able to find free parking a short walk away and grocery store was so convenient. We also walked to the Chateau Amboise and enjoyed our visit there. The views from across the bridge at night were amazing. Also got great quiche and homemade pastries from Bigot at the base of the Chateau.
Location was excellent, with free parking nearby and a short walk to the apartment. The apartment is well-appointed, clean, and comfortable and within walking distance to nice restaurants, shops, and pharmacy. The owner of the apartment provided excellent directions to the site and where to park and communicated before and during the visit.
So many sites to see right in Amboise, and it's a beautiful city. Don't miss Chateau du Clos Luce, Da Vinci's home during his last days; it's quite special!
This is the best place I've ever stayed in in France - beautiful chateau that has been lovingly restored.
Friendly owner and staff that are always helpful.
Amazing room, beautifully decorated with huge bath and shower overlooking beautiful grounds.
Amazing pool, games room, games area in gorgeous lounge area.
Attention to detail just fabulous, a real gem !
The chateau is brilliantly located close to the pretty Amboise and to explore the Loire Valley
Beautiful, spacious, comfortable “home away from home” with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The perfect location for exploring Amboise on foot, or for a quick getaway by car to visit other villages and towns. Lovely, friendly owners who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Off-street parking was very helpful. I could go on and on… You won’t regret staying at Le Clos Richelieu, it is better than a five star hotel.
Amazingly convenient location in the centre of Amboise, right near the chateau and many restaurants. The breakfast was croissant, baguette and jams, with orange juice and coffee. They'll make you an espresso if you ask, which was awesome. Even though we were told the wifi wouldn't work in the room, only communal areas, it stretched to our room, which was convenient.
Very beautiful location and unique hotel situated in the quaint town of Amboise. the staff was very nice and the breakfast was good. We also had an excellent dinner on-site. The hotel was quick to respond to messages I sent before my visit and accommodated all my requests. My room was large and had a great bathtub and bathroom.
The apartment is charming and spacious. We loved the character! Kitchen was well equipped. There was plenty of space for three adults and a teenager. The best part was the location, just steps from the city center. In the evenings, we enjoyed staring up at the Chateau from our private patio to watch the lights. Excellent stay.
A very comfortable hotel. Excellent service throughout our stay. Great location to explore Amboise area. Swimming pool area extremely pleasant area to relax after a day of visiting chateaux. Be aware that restaurant is not open Sunday evening to Wednesday - I can’t comment on restaurant therefore as this coincided with visit.
It was the most beautiful place, lovingly cared for by the owners who made us feel so special and welcome. Every single detail was thought of…cozy comfortable bed, fresh thick soft towels in the bathroom, with handmade speciality soaps. We could so easily walk to downtown Amboise, where there were amazing restaurants
Sarah’s artistic touches made this property exceptional as well as the location. It was wonderful to be right downtown in the historic district with a view of the Amboise Chateau out of our windows. It was also very clean and well maintained. Sarah’s directions were very clear and parking was not a problem at all.
Easy to find location with free on site parking. Comfortable rooms and nice linens. Just around the corner from the Chateau d' Amboise. Ate at Brunos, excellent. Very nice on site breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel during a Loire Valley visit, excellent location.
Conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the center of Amboise but with easy access to free on-street parking - closer than the hotel's own parking lot. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and I slept better there than I did at a fancy chateau later in the trip.
The hotel is located a short drive from Amboise. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. Plenty of parking, nicely decorated rooms, very clean and friendly staff. The ground floor rooms have private courtyards, nice for sitting and taking in the views. Good breakfast.
Host was wonderful! They were very accommodating. The location is also excellent - right next to the chateau d’Amboise and downtown area. Parking was close by and free and grocery stores, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance.
Beautiful hotel and decor, wonderful views from room window, room very spacious and clean. Excellent customer service, the staff was very nice always. Walking distance from city center. Will stay again there if I visit Amboise again.
Lovely hotel in a superb location - five minute walk to centre of Amboise. Brilliant staff and excellent quality of room. The gorgeous outdoor pool was very welcome in the 38 degrees heat. ample and easy parking.
Alison the owner gracious and welcoming. A trained chef—have her cook dinner for you! Best of our week in Paris! Great location the chateaux and charming French towns. A delight.
