Hotel was located conveniently in the heart of the city within walking distance to the places we wanted to go to. Parking was just across the road with a discount ticket from the reception on checkout. The hotel was quiet and the room had everything we needed and was modern, neat and tidy. I would stay here again if the matress was different.

I love how friendly the restaurant staffs are and how they offered barista coffee/drinks right away. Superb range of breakfast options. My mum likes the nasi goreng so much that she said it tastes better than any other Asian restaurants in Melbourne. My vegetarian daughter had a wide variety of options for her. She really likes the plain mie goreng and different types of cheeses available.

A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, whose highlight is walking through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.
The city’s most recognisable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the colour of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.
Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping centre has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.
South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this is not the city’s only sporting heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules football and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.
Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodation from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.
So much to explore in the CBD. A Free Tram Zone in the CBD is also a bonus. There's a City Circle tram that stops at some Melbourne highlights.
I spent 5 hours at the Melbourne Museum, and there were a few schools also visiting at the time so that's something to be aware of.
Lots of places to eat, in and around the small side streets.
It's so peaceful walking around the many different gardens.
Can't wait to visit again!

the transport system means you can go anywhere easily and cheaply. Lots of different things to see and experience. We loved the museums and heritage but also the night life. It was great to 'discover' places in alleys and tucked away. People were friendly and we always felt safe, even after midnight. Its a clean place, but there are lots of birds about if you are eating outside. Huge variety of options for food. honestly something for everyone and at every budget

Melbourne is a great place be!
Melbourne is a great place be! My family spends one or two nights there to relax, enjoy eating in restaurants/fast food, have coffee & massages, have haircuts, do our shoppings, play at Strike and Latency Zero and go to clubs/pubs. Either when you take a train or take a plane, spending time at the Spencer Outlet which is right above where the train station is and the regional bus terminal is (incl Skybus for your airport transport) is a bonus allowing & giving you more time to do your last minute shopping & relaxation!

Superb city.
Superb city. My stay at Holiday Inn Express is very near to the Southern Cross Railway Station. Restaurants, eateries all around the place. Also lucky to find some Indian restaurants like Saravana Bhavan, Punjab Grill, Dosa etc. Victoria Market & other places of city center is beautiful to visit & enjoy.
Location in CBD was perfect, as was the close proximity to Southbank, tram stops, Flinders Station, and Southern Cross Station.
All the main shopping streets are very close as well, with convenience stores, cafes etc basically on the door-step.
As for the hotel itself, rooms, bathrooms, cleanliness, facilities etc were excellent! The gym and pool were also fine.
Reception and all wait staff were very good. The breakfast team were very good and the food was exceptional
Best hotel-stay Ive ever had in Melbourne
Location was great & reception staff were really fantastic. Enthusiastic & helpful for where the main shopping & DFO locations were in the city. We caught an Uber to/from the hotel from the airport & otherwise walked the CBD. Hotel was a block from the central train station under the main shopping complex. Really good restaurants & shopping mall nearby, as well as princess theatre & her majesties theatre a 10 minute walk away (we went to both for shows during our stay!)
Our room was large and spacious with a very comfortable bed. As it was at the front of the hotel, we had a verandah overlooking Lygon Street - we really enjoyed that. The staff were very attentive to our needs. The location was perfect as it was on the main restaurant/coffee part of Lygon Street. We always choose to stay here when visiting Melbourne. Access to public transport is excellent and it is an easy walk into the CBD.
Nice location, but because of building Metro Tunnel not convinient to walk to CBD. Use tram and dont forget to buy maky - it is not freezone and you can not pay by card in public transport, as in Sydney.
The staff is very warm and friednly. You can ask early check in or left your luggage in storage room for free. They have iron and hair dryer, but it placed in the hall. For current price the hotel has decent facitilities.
Worth every cent! Beautiful hotel, classy and very comfortable rooms; staff members are not only polite but very well trained and genuinely caring people. The location is fantastic on Southgate and close to Melbourne CBD, perfect if you have to go to the Exhibition Centre, 10 mins walking distance while enjoying a beautiful city/river view (wear comfy shoes!). We’ll definitely come back again, highly recommended!
Very close to the CBD and Vic markets, on the free tram line into the city making travel very convenient. The hotel is set up for family or business and the lobby is nice.
Gym and pool also a nice bonus! Plus a quiet spot on the top floor with comfortable seating to relax away from hustle and bustle of Melbourne CBD.
Despite that I thought I was booking the CBD apartments and arriving at the Docklands instead was a bit of a surprise, we really enjoyed the location. It was quiet and there was a tram stop right outside making travel around Melbourne very easy. The room was large, clean and well equipped.
For the price, this was a good room. The beds were pretty comfy and the overall cleanliness of the room was nice. The best thing about this hotel was the location and price. So, if you're not too precious about comfort, this is a great spot to get around Melbourne CBD and surrounds.
Very central, easy to get around Melbourne CBD from the hotel. Check-in/out process was flawless the staff was very professional. The room had a nice view of the city. Unlike other reviews, I'd say our room was pretty spacious. It was super clean and very comfortable.
We really enjoyed the hotel, as it was located within the CBD of Melbourne. It is also strategically positioned close to the airport bus terminals and the free tram zones. Facilities such as the saunas and swimming from the hotels were great for end the night!
The room is not spacious. Hotel location in the city center. Very close to the CBD area, Chinatown, etc. Included in the free tram zone.
For purposes from / to the airport, it is very close to the Sky Bus stop (around 200 meters, walking distance).
We stayed at the Westin so we could see a show in town. Very convenient location. Excellent service from everyone at the hotel, from the minute we arrived to the minute of our departure.
I will never stay anywhere else in Melbourne CBD.
The hotel has an easy access by car (not sure about public transport). Car park though is $25/day but considering you’re in Melbourne CBD that is not surprising.
I wanted a room with the city view and I had it. Very beautiful, loved it.
The location is the best part about this hotel; central to everything, a short walk to all main attractions in Melbourne CBD. The room I had was nice and spacious, with a good view of the city. Price was also good.
Opposite train station , great for overnight visit to Melbourne good access to CBD and then on to airport. Hotel happy to check baggage in early and hold after checkout. Good breakfast
The view from the apartment and the location of the property are amazing. The apartment located in the center of of Melbourne CBD and so close to all tourist attractions and shops.
Excellent location in the heart of Melbourne CBD, surrounded by a variety of food and entertainment options. Clean and comfortable room, good amenities, and friendly staff.
Great value hotel in a location that allows you to walk to all the tourist spots and CBD - very clean, lovely lobby and staff. Breakfast was basic but much appreciated.
Facilities for price were great. Access to Melbourne CBD was easy. Hotel bar and restaurant very handy and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and helpful, 11am checkout.
The hotel is located right at the heart of Melbourne CBD. It is accessible to most tram zones, and there are so many cafes and restaurants around the area.
