Everything about the property was superb, beautiful well manicured gardens, rooms were spaced apart perfectly that you had privacy. The pool & bbq area are an Oasis with character and charm. Check what you want to see/do before making any bookings as some things are not on every day. If travelling by train and you want a twin sleeper you need to book many months ahead. The trips and experiences are very expensive but quite unique. Chooses a cooler time of the year.

Longreach is a wonderful country town, you can find anything you need there, even a touchless car wash. The qantas museum was worth it. Unfortunately the stockmans hall was closed on the public holiday. Spent the evening on a sunset river cruise and had a wonderful time, we were wined and dined at smith's camp which included live entertainment. An absolutely fantastic end to our day.

Longreach is a clean, safe modern town which has retained much of its pioneer heritage. Good facilities except for lack of public transport. Most people would need access to a vehicle. Plenty of places of interest. Good selection of accomodation. It is very much in the outback. Air travel is probably the best way to get there.

Plenty to see close by and a little way out (Winton & Ilfracombe for e.g). Everybody very friendly and helpful. Plenty of food outlets from hotels to cafes and retail stores. Everything in town within easy walking distance.

Lovely town in the central west and probably the best kept/most loved by the local council. Lots of activities and experiences to engage with. The Italian Restaurant was excellent and Rebecca the owner/host made it even moreso.

My flight from Blackall got cancelled so ended up arriving on a bus late at night, 8 hours later than planned. Key had been left for me, I did not meet any of the staff. Room was comfortable and large enough for four people. I was visiting the Qantas museum, so it was ideally placed, less than 5 minute walk. The walk into town is about 20 minutes, where one can find a few cafés and retsaraunts. It suited my needs perfectly. I was in Longreach for about 14 hours altogether, most of those hours it was dark so no much more I can say.

We enjoyed the size of our room at the Motel, and it's excellent position to town, it has Harry's Restaurant above it and the train station is just across the road. We also dropped our hire car off there, and hope by now Budget/Avis have picked it up - we did go to the airport to advise them we were doing this, which is apparently quite normal due to access back from the Airport. The staff we met were delightful, as are the people in Longreach.

Very handy location for Qantas Founders Museum and the airport. Saltbush was very good value. I travelled alone this time and their basic room suited me well- would also have been fine for a family with 2 children. When I return with friends or family I'll stay here again in one of the more expensive rooms that look really special. Hot water in the shower was great. Free airport transfer was useful with my bags.

Clean and comfy rooms! They provided more than what other hotels would give you and we loved the local touches they added; locally made soaps, Australian made shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash etc.
