We were totally welcomed and felt very relaxed. Our host was very attentive. The ambience of the outside area and our room was warm and comfortable. We were provided with everything we needed and helped with recomodation and advice with directions. The breakfast was generous, and the hot moka coffee appreciated. We arrived tired and blistered and left refreshed. We continued straight onto Via Francigena, though we would have liked to stay longer.

We were welcomed by our very friendly hostess. Spacious clean apartment with 2 bathrooms as the 2 bedrooms are on 2 separate levels. Right on the Via Francigena for pilgrims. Highly recommend.

Ideally situated for those walking the Via Francigena, literally the route goes right past the front door, cosy and warm which was perfect for a winter stay. Recommended.
Beautiful property and accommodation. The host and her family were lovely and went out of their way to help us. The breakfast was yummy and beds comfortable with a little windows that have terrific views of the old city. I can’t recommend this more stay more highly. Thank you to Anna and family!

We were passing through on our pilgrimage to Rome on the Via...
We were passing through on our pilgrimage to Rome on the Via Francigena and we enjoyed stopping in the town. It is beautifully situated on a hill with old medieval houses. We had super pizza at a pizzeria by the gateway into town.
The hotel consists of 8 large guest rooms with terraces overlooking the lush green garden and glimpses of the views beyond. The staff were really helpful, allowing us extra time for our breakfast, fixing the hairdryer when it broke and giving us excellent suggestions for our days' outings. The location is tranquil and calm. Breakfast was modest but adequate with fresh fruit, home baked cakes, fruit juice (bottled not fresh), yoghurt, a couple of cereals, tea or coffee. Would highly recommend.
The host was very friendly and welcoming although communication wasn’t easy as we didn’t speak each other’s language. She also helped me find a place for dinner and made reservations for me. The location was great in the historic centre of Formello. Bed and shower were good and I was warm on a coolish night. Internet worked well, too. Breakfast was really good and Jenny, the dog, excellent company.
The location is a short walk into Formello which is a lovely little village. I recommend L’inverno restaurant and Bar Centrale.
Chanel and Giorgio are amazing hosts and I hope to visit again soon with my family. Chanel and Giorgio made the trip truly outstanding and we cannot thank them enough for their hospitality and warmth. Molto grazie!

Great hosts, clean room and bathroom and a great breakfast.
I had to go to Rome for a day and stayed here as an alternative the day before, so I drove my car and stoped at formello to stay the afternoon and night with my girlfriend the night before, knowing that we were just 30 minutes away from Rome the next day. Would love to go back, I would recommend la scaletta to anyone.
The location is just wonderful- views are relaxing countryside and so peaceful atmosphere even in reality you are close to so many great sites-Formello borgo, Calcatta, Bracciano lake, sea etc...and even Roma city center is only 45 min drive away! House and outside areas are splendid, the hostess is very graceful and always there to assist you- a perfect spot for holidays!
This place brings you family and friends communities feelings, with beautiful antique furnitures, artistic style around the whole building, with peaceful rooftop views, specially when the garden restaurant and many facilities are ready I can sure this place will be a very delicate boutique hotel become a must see place.
The location suited us meeting with family who live in Formello, only 30mins to Rome. The property was absolutely perfect and the room was spotlessly clean. The owners were very friendly and hospitable. I would highly recommend this property if a smaller, rural location is preferred
the house is Amazing as the Host as well. really beautiful owner who welcomed us with a smile on her face. the room we slept in beats every 4 star hotel in Rome or near Rome which is much expensive as well. we ll be back definitely.

The location is on the edge of the historical centre of Formello and in the middle of the Parco di Veio. The bed is excellent. The kitchen is well-equipped and the fridge already contains water and other beverages.
it’s located in Formello, outside of northern Rome. Domenico was super friendly and waited for us til super late arrival. it was super clean and warm, in the midst of residential area.
the apartment had everything necessary for a comfortable staying. Clean, furnished with style, nice location, near very good restaurants. The village of Formello was a nice surprise.
