Our host went way beyond expectations at breakfast. It was so well planned and the amount of produce on the plate either grown in the gardens of the house or from neighbouring farms was so impressive.

the overall facilities and staff reception were good
We stayed in Partney, close to Spilsby. It was an excellent location for visiting the Wolds, the coast, a National Trust property, and many other places of interest. The village itself has no entertainment but is pretty and a good place for local walks.
We ate at the Blacksmith's Arms in Skendleby and at our accommodation. by special request.
We would avoid the North Sea Lookout at Chapel Point St. Lawrence. It was extremely busy, hard to park and the organisation for getting food or a drink was chaotic.

Spilsby is an attractive and interesting settlement with great history, dating back to before the arrival of the Vikings. It has wonderful views and is part of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty. It has notable buildings, such as the theatre, and is the birthplace of an antarctic explorer. Spilsby has character and also a large Sainsbury's.

We got there after 7pm and didn’t have the chance to see much but from what we saw- We loved it! We had a nice walk before bedtime. The place was quiet and very clean. We walked from The Dragon to the Church and circled around there, for a half an hour. Would have loved to go to the antique shops as there were quite a few (and saw some nice things in the window). People were calm and smiling, very helpful when asked for directions. A magical sunset at the end of a day of walking and visiting surrounding areas. We spent our day in the wonderful, busy Skegness having fun, walking, rushing from one touristic point to another and wrapping our day up, winding down with a pizza (ordered to take away from a place in the town centre),a calming walk in a place like Spilby and a restful night sleep at The Dragon was all we wanted!
We’re thinking of going again when the Theater will re-open. Majestic building that is!
Thank you for a lovely stay!

If you are wanting to explore the Lincolnshire Wolds and the East Coast, Splisby is a good place to base yourselves. With easy access to the main roads, you can explore the many attractions and towns/villages in the area. The coast is just half an hour's drive away, and the same time can get you to several places of interest. There are places to eat and drink in Spilsby, and there are several shops and a supermarket for supplies.

Quiet little place, no postcards.
Quiet little place, no postcards. Points of interest: Birthplace of Franklin, the seafarer. There’s a remarkable building called Spilsby Theatre supported by a conservation campaign. We liked the Second-Hand shops. Lots of breakfast venue’s though good coffee was trickier to find!
