Adorable little town, super nice to see how kind everyone was, it has that small town trusting community vibes (a lot of crafty people left their homemade Christmas goods outside their door with details of their PayPal or boxes for money. Awesome!) Cute shops, lovely scenery. Worth visiting even if for just one day

You need to at least a day and a night to make the best of Lacock which is a wonderful place to visit. We have been twice now but would like to go again. We ate our evening meal at the Red Lion which was excellent.

It is a lovely village that deserve wandering around at leisure. It is a period drama delight, especially if you like Jane Austen etc. The abbey was a good visit, all the more so if you are already a National Trust member. Plus, it rewards a little exploration with lovely surprises such as the ford. We went in June and the village was resplendent with roses and climbing hydrangeas in bloom.

The whole village is so picturesque, and it’s owned by the National Trust. So many original historical houses and buildings. Some lovely little walks, pub, cafes and shops. It’s a good place to mooch around.

    Beautiful National Trust village.

Beautiful National Trust village. Checked in and ate in the pub restaurant (lovely food, helpful staff) before heading into Bath for a concert. In the morning we were offered a selection of breakfast options (not just Continental). Again staff very helpful, but not intrusive. A lively pub in the evening, clearly very popular, but nothing too much trouble. Serve excellent food, a varied menu. Accommodation was clean and spacious, and quiet once pub closed. The pub welcomes visitors of all ages, human and canine. We were asked if we wanted to move to a quieter table as there were a lot of children in a large family group next to us, and we were celebrating an anniversary. We were fine, but it was thoughtful to be asked. Very convenient for exploring the area and such a beautiful setting. We are planning our second visit already!
