The Temple Bar Inn, hotel in Garway

Set in Hereford, 8.4 km from Longtown Castle, The Temple Bar Inn offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

The beer was excellent, so nice to get back from a long day, sit in the bar which had a very welcoming atmosphere and not have to drive anywhere. The food in the restaurant was outstanding, we ate there twice. Gino's breakfasts were very good, especially the black pudding. Comfortable rooms and the village was in easy travelling distance to all the places we wanted to see.

Wye Valley Holiday Cottage - Field Cottage, hotel in Garway

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Wye Valley Holiday Cottage - Field Cottage offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi.

We loved the whole damn thing from start to finish. I wanted to meet my friends somewhere special to just eat and sleep to celebrate my 50th birthday. We had a room each and plenty of space to cook, craft and relax. The rooms were beautiful; I’d say everything g was high end. Lots of lovely finishes everywhere. The fire pit was the icing on the cake as we all sat round it Saturday night for a bit of a meditation session. Lovely. Such a peaceful place with all the facilities we needed. Dom answered every ridiculous question I had before we arrived. My special weekend was utterly perfect, so grateful ♥️

The Beaufort, Raglan, hotel in Garway

In the centre of Raglan Village, this 16th-century inn is close to the medieval castle, between Usk, Monmouth and Abergavenny. It is a 15 minute drive from the M4 and well placed for the A40.

Dinner was excellent. The room was a little tired looking with old grubby carpets. The toilet extractor next door kept me awake and the sqeaky floorboards.

We stayed here for the forging session at Old Field Forge. Location was only a 5 min drive away! Lovely restaurant with amazing food! and a nice beer selection. A really nice historic building with large rooms. The mobile signal was intermittent so recommend downloading or using offline maps, but this also made it difficult to use the card machine but was only a mild inconvenience.

Friendly Good parking Great beers and food

Friendly Good parking Great beers and food Lovely quaint village location Five minute drive to Oldfield Forge Blacksmith experience which is the reason we were in the area Massive village green out front. No other shops within walking distance, so don’t expect to nip to a shop. But that’s the charm. Narrow stairs up to rooms so not very accessible but that was not an issue for us It’s an old inn, so expect creaks and slightly wonky floors, it’s charming! Delighted with our stay

Owners were away on holiday, friends were looking after venue. No evening meal or breakfast was available, room was cold, no heating. People who were looking after were not bothered and did not seem to want to make the stay good or be helpful. Very disappointed

    Nice friendly place to stay.

Nice friendly place to stay. Set in a quiet village so you definitely need a car. Grace the shift leader very good and helpful. Room comfortable with everything we needed. Would have liked a more extensive menu. Menu choice of burger and chips for 3 out of the 4 days. The curry night on Tuesday was lovely and wished this had been available throughout our stay. Free parking on site available. Great breakfast in the morning Another downside was check in not available until 5pm but overall a great place stay.

Rooms had all the amenities, but wifi was a bit hit and miss. Food was really good and the Garwaymoon is centrally placed about a half hour drive from Ross, Hay and Hereford with Monmouth close by. Hosts were friendly and able to help with any queries, Lovely and quiet. Stairs to the rooms may be a bit steep for people with limited mobility. Lots of outside space to sit in warmer weather

We needed a place to stay overnight after visiting friends. It did the job perfectly. However if you are looking for a 5 star hotel, this might not be the right place. Staff were charming, accommodation better than we had expected.
