Amazing location, beautiful views. So nice to have a balcony- what a rare treat. I loved having a cup of coffee there in the morning. The food in the restaurant was stunning and amazing value. Every course was really tasty with perfect portion sizes and fantastic service. The staff were all excellent, very friendly and helpful. Dinner menu was modestly priced , as it should be the food was only modest. We do not eat cooked breakfast and I can only say the continental option was aweful. This hotel is seems mainly to be used by groups of hikers whom I assume get special rates. It also seems to be aiming to be a wedding venue, cricket club and an outdoor beer garden. Certainly not a upmarket hotel. It is however in a stunning location.

    A really nice friendly village.

A really nice friendly village. It has a Co-op as the main food supplier. Bakery, butcher a few cafes, pubs , Chinese take- away. Tea on the Train was a good experience it’s a cafe in a stationary carriage at the heritage centre . Bellingham is a nice space to spend time and get your food supplies.

This is my first time staying in Bellingham for leisure.

This is my first time staying in Bellingham for leisure. I sometimes travel through on my way to work in Kielder and around Northumberland so have never got to experience the town proper. Some great places to eat including the Fountain Cottage and Happy Valley and cute local shops such as Olive and Myrtle and Natural Northumberland. Recently our friends opened their brewery at the old ambulance station, F&L (First & Last) which also has a tap room opened 09.12.2022 - this addition to the town and previous positive visits will ensure my return for both work and leisure

    Lovely little village.

Lovely little village. A few good places to eat out, even for coeliacs. Co-op grocery store and some very nice little gift shops. Visitor centre was very interesting. Great location for visiting Kielder Observatory, Kielder Water, Vindolanda and Housesteads Roman Forts, Hadrian's Wall and Hexham - 30 mins from them all by car. Everyone I met in the village and surrounding area was very helpful and friendly too.

Whilst technically a village, Bellingham punches well above...

Whilst technically a village, Bellingham punches well above the weight of its size - being the obvious local focus for a wide rural area. It is well provided for in terms of shops (including specialist butcher, bakers etc.) and plenty for tourists. It has multiple pubs, a couple of which (the Cheviot and Riverdale Hall) I can recommend from personal experience. Local beers were on hand pump and of high standard. The walking (particularly the Pennine Way) is of an excellent and picturesque quality.

The hot breakfast was the best I have had at an Inn/Hotel, perfect before a long hike to Hareshaw Linn and beyond in the snow. The staff were very friendly, accomodating, easy going and not too fussing. The room and facilities are modern, very clean and tidy and comfortable. I am really looking forward to returning and staying here more often in the future when working in Northumberland and visiting friends at the First & Last Brewery.

The property is really cosy, nicely decorated and really peaceful even if it’s just by the road. Also just a short walk to Bellingham high street (took us about 10’ with our 9 and 7 year olds). There are options for good walks just from the front door, so one can forget about the car at all. Finally and the most important, very friendly and welcoming host (Jamie). Gave us good advice for walks in the area.

Cozy and comfy accommodation, hosted with love and care, felt like a home. Well-equipped kitchen. Bellingham is pretty small but the accommodation was right next to the stores and two pubs, as well as to the start of the beautiful Hareshaw Linn Walk to a waterfall. Contact with the hostess was quick and easy. It was an hour's drive to Alnwick and half an hour's drive to some great Hadrian's Wall walks.

Great location and nice and cosy cottage. Bellingham is a lovely little county town. A very nice touch to see that a bag of logs had been left for the wood burner which did a great job of heating the place. Kitchen facilities were more than adequate. We were all very impressed as to what we got for our budget.

The staff were lovely and attentive, the room was comfortable and clean, great shower. The location is fab, right in the centre of Bellingham, with a few pubs nearby and a little shop across the road. We also ate in the cafe on the Saturday night and the food was really nice for the price. Breakfast was also great.

Perfectly comfortable, clean and spacious. Everything was immaculate, the bed was super comfy and we received an excellent welcome. Secure bike storage is available upon request and the location is perfect to take a evening wander into Bellingham after undoubtedly the hardest leg of the Sandstone Way.
