FAQs about hotels in Strasbourg

Crossroads of European Culture

Situated on the banks of the River Rhine, Strasbourg is the capital of the Alsace region of France. The medieval city centre, Grande Île, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and houses the glorious sandstone Strasbourg Cathedral and picturesque timber-framed buildings.

The Cathedral of Our Lady is the tallest medieval building in Europe and one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture. It features a remarkable façade, one of the largest astronomical clocks in the world, stunning stained glass windows, and a terrace with panoramic city views.

Enjoy a pleasant walk in the medieval streets of the old town, or visit the charming Petite-France district. Here are some of the range of Strasbourg restaurants serving Alsatian specialities like beef and pork stew with potatoes and carrots, accompanied by local beer and regional white wine.

At the crossroads of European culture, cosmopolitan Strasbourg is home to numerous international organisations including the European Parliament, as well as one of the oldest European universities.

Strasbourg International Airport is easily reached from other international airports, so book your hotel, apartment or bed and breakfast through Booking.com and experience an unforgettable stay.

Strasbourg is a charming town with friendly people, beautiful architecture and lots to do. The food is very Germanic--different from Paris but also very delicious. This wasn't our first trip to Strasbourg but the first one in winter (for the Christmas markets.) It was great and I highly recommend a visit.

A really nice place with something for everyone.

A really nice place with something for everyone. History, museums, classic architecture, riverside walks, local food but also excellent eating options for all tastes and budgets. The tram across into Germany - but still part of the CTS Strasbourg public transport network - offers another interesting option. Plenty of play areas for kids too. Very good TGV links too, barely two hours from Paris means you could leave London in the morning by Eurostar and be in Strasbourg by mid-afternoon.

Strasbourg is a small city which we visited during the best season: Christmas. I would recommend the Christmas market, mainly for its variety of good local food, cute shops with handmade merchandise made by the locals. We experienced Alsacian food in the restaurants, it is recommended that you reserve a table due to the affluence of so many people during the holiday season they all get booked. A cute city worth visiting during the holidays.

I booked this trip a year before as accommodation is hard to find as it's so popular for Christmas Market time. We wanted to be near to the Old Town and Petite France but also to the train station for Colmar, another beautiful place to visit. I could have done with an extra day in Strasbourg. There is great shopping, beautiful christmas lights and decorations, great history and architecture, canals, the Cathedral etc.

Straßburg was magical during new year. Christmas lights were still there and made the city so vibrant and colorful. Staying in colmar for few hours was also worth it. I would highly recommend a small halt in Bergheim , a small charming village that we accidentally got in 😉

After 26th of December you should not visit the city because of the holidays and new year, all the shops and restaurants are closed. You need to make a reservation for the limited open restaurants and its really hard to find a place to eat and drink something.

I have fully enjoyed my stay at Aparthotel Adagio Access Strasbourg Petite France. The room was spacious and clean. The location is very accessible and it was suitable for me as I had to take the bus to the airport early in the morning on my departure day. The staff is very nice and guest-oriented, always ready to help or guide. Also, I have to mention the breakfast with many options that could meet every guest's preferences. Next time I am in Strasbourg, I'll definitely choose this location!

Staff was very friendly and helpful! We immediately felt welcomed from the moment we entered the hotel. There is a water dispenser in the lobby, where you can get filtered water. They even have bottles there that you can fill up. The bed was very comfortable as well, I literally slept like a Bebe. And of course the location, only 10 minutes away from the station, and literally in the centre of Strasbourg. I would definitely stay there again!
