The Mercure Troyes Center occupies a former factory located 500 meters from the historic center of the city. The hotel has just been completely renovated and offers a chic and cozy decor.
What a warm welcome - such a friendly receptionist at the end of a long journey. Having made the last minute decision to stay over night rather an push through to our destination, this hotel not just looked like it did in the pics (modern, comfortable, and above all clean - esp, the bathrooms), but the customer service was exceptional. thank you for an unexpected and wonderful surprise!
We stayed here for 1 night on the way from Calais to the South of France, and again on the way back to Calais. Great location to break up journey - minutes from motorway. Spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Restaurants, supermarket and boulangerie within walking distance. Will definitely stay at Hotel Akena again!
All I need to say is that we stay here on every occasion that we visit my mother-in-law further south, both on the way there and on the way back. Pre-covid, that's three or four times a year. We have been using the hotel for probably twelve to fifteen years. We also appreciate the freshly cooked food.

This hotel was convenient for a return to the Uk, after a ski trip. We booked about 15 mins before we arrived, easy check in via a machine, we then left early the next day and didn't see anyone else.
The rooms smelled because it is a hotel that accepts pets. The bathroom was moldy. Overall the hotel is run down. The gentleman at the reception was very friendly.
