A wonderful almost hidden gem, the whole town is a living museum full of lovely historic buildings by chance exactly as they were hundreds of years ago. We continue to be amazed at the sights within the town.
Cannot recommend too much the Chez Félix restaurant in the town centre, great food, lovely staff, very pleasant atmosphere appealing to all ages - and delicious Champagne!

It's a busy town, but our host gave clear instructions to find free parking within a five minute walk. This property is right in the historic heart of Troyes, so you really get a feel for the place. The architecture is stunning - tall timber framed merchant houses, and some other stone built elegant structures too. With just a one night stay, and a ferry to catch the following day, we had nowhere near enough time to appreciate it - and no time to visit any of the amazing churches. We need to come again to enjoy it all properly. We ate at a popular grill restaurant in one of the old timber-framed buildings. It was buzzing and busy, but they fitted us in. We enjoyed local food and some champagne from the region.

The old town is lovely: fascinating architecture and quaint laneways. Not buzzing with cars so easy to get around on foot. Every encounter with the locals was pleasant. A nice place to soak in la vie francaise.

Troyes is a fantastic, friendly, safe city.
Troyes is a fantastic, friendly, safe city. Easy to walk everywhere and so much to see and do a few days is not enough. The museums, medieval houses, churches are fascinating .It is like walking into history. Don't forget to visit the Mediatheque, the collection of ancient books is amazing. After an afternoon of exploring try one of the many cafes for something yummy to eat. Then take a night stroll down to the canal to see Troyes lit up at night!!
A beautifully renovated historic building right next to the city centre. We were looking for a stay over during our trip to Southern Europe. Troyes is a beautiful town and easy to access from the highway. The hotel offers secure parking, which is also a great plus. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was good size, clean, comfortable, and pleasant. I also very much enjoyed the bar. The city centre is a five minute's walk from the hotel and certainly a not to miss.
This hotel is a beautiful historic building, with timber framed rooms on many different levels, and is built around pretty courtyards and gardens. It is very close to the centre of Troyes. It is a shame that it does not deserve its 5 star rating, and both the hotel and restaurant are overpriced. Staff try their best, but management are obviously only interested in charging high prices which are more than double the prices they should be for room, dinner and breakfast.
An excellent guest house with lots of character in an historical town house. Our room was spacious and well furnished. We appreciated the kitchenette fridge which enabled is to chill our bottled water for the following day. A lovely breakfast was provided by our friendly host. Secure parking was also an important factor for us. Accommodation like this makes traveling in France a real pleasure!
Overall great hotel with friendly staff. We were enroute further South of France and this was a quick stop over. Nice and clean. Great bed. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. We also had a recommendation for a lovely pizza place 10 mins walk from the hotel. All round great stay - we booked for the return back to the UK journey, glad we did.
Met the needs of an affordable overnight stop on the way further south in France. As a one night stop perfectly adequate but might be a little small for a longer stay. The hotel is a 30 - 40 minute walk to the centre of Troyes but worth it! Troyes is beautiful.
This was our 2nd stay at this charming property which is only matched by the charming Jennifer. On our 2nd trip we arrived from the south of France after a long journey and Jennifer had prepared for us a lovely board of delicious cheeses and bread.
The apartment was conveniently located on the ground floor, not far from the center of Troyes. The apartment was a nice size with separate living room, bed room, and bath room. The friendly hostess showed me around.
The property was lovely. We had a very large comfortable room. The hostess was very friendly & allowed us to park there even after checking out. It is ideally situated for visiting Troyes.
After a couple days in Paris this facility was top notch. The staff was very friendly and their recommendation for a restaurant was the best on our entire trip. A great place to stay.
Location is good (but road works nearby made navigation difficult)
Good restaurants nearby.
Good “half way” stopover location for return home from the south of France, Switzerland…
Absolutely stunning hotel, built like a castle! Room was gorgeous! We chose one with a timbered ceiling, there was a slight problem, so we were upgraded to a suite!
Marvelous!
