One of my favourites in Harz. In the middle of Harz forests. Best walking trail to Brocken. Very picturesque and lots of atmosphere. Unfortunately it has been a bit overdeveloped in the past few years in my opinion. So it gets extremely busy at weekends and holidays, particularly when the weather is good. Parking will then be a problem and it's then simply too much. I hope that the real locals benefit from it at least and not only investors.
The place is gorgeous! It's located in the heart of an incredibly beautiful Schierke just a couple of minutes away from the bus stop. The room is super clean and comfortable, breakfast is tasty and generous, and people are extremely kind and friendly. Hiking trails are nearby as well as the station of the tourist train. We loved this stay a lot, would highly recommend this place!
One of three traditional houses with hiking paths starting directly at the doorstep. Back-to-back wooden semi-detached: beautifully modernised. The house has a big living space which is light and clear. It was all super clean. Everything that was needed in the kitchen was there. Fam. Schultze, the ‘house managers’ were very helpful, kind, and friendly. We will be back!
Really pleasant stay. Tastefully decorated, clean and quiet. The owner was flexible with check-in and check-out time and this is always appreciated. Parking in front of the house, possibility to store the bikes (if necessary)! There is a really nice restaurant just 200m away from the property and, as expected, hiking/biking trails are "around" the corner.
The staffs are really friendly and helpful as always! The breakfast is good and variety. The location is just perfect for all activities in Harz National park. The hotel Sauna room is just perfect for guests, specially for winter season.

The weather was really bad during our stay in Schierke, so we enjoyed a lot the kaminfire in the Bungalow.
I really like the location of the hotel, where you are close to the mountain, and when you open the windows, you get a great view. Also, the room is relatively clean.
Room was a little dated but very comfortable, as was the bed, breakfast was very enjoyable with a good selection, Hotel was clean and tidy no complaints there.
The apartment was just right for our small family. No oven but we cooked an OK meal on the hob.
The food in the restaurant was super tasty and good value.
