The absolutely sumptuous breakfast provided ,included hot and cold food , could not be bettered. Overall the best I have encountered in my travels using guest houses and B&Bs over 60 + years.
Soft and Alcoholic drinks were available in a cooler and provided on a self pay basis .

This was a tastefully decorated apartment, clean and comfortable. We didn't cook as we were traveling onwards and stopped here for one night so we could visit a friend nearby. The apartment was spacious and the balcony was pleasant to use for morning tea. We know the surrounding area is great if you enjoy cycling and walking.

Detern is a small, typical village for the Ammerland region. Brick buildings, tall trees surrounded by fields and shallow lakes. It´s westernmost part is a sleepy hamlet with a nice assembly of historical buildings. The center is more buzzing but still very quaint.
