I would definitely advise to travel around, small villages, historical sites, sea, dikes, quite different from other regions in Germany. Peaceful, quite. Habits and the language are similar to one that is in North Nederland, Groningen.

A good city for shopping trips and the typical restaurants and cafés. Some nice buildings and the Ostfriesen Museum is well worth a visit with a surprisingly good and complete collection of armoury that could rival the British Royal Armouries and exhibits such as a "bog man" and prehistoric collections and research.

A very pleasant, small city and seaport in East Frisia.

A very pleasant, small city and seaport in East Frisia. Of particular interest are the Ostfriesisches Landesmuseum (Brückstraße 1), with detailed local history, and the Kunsthalle (Hinter dem Rahmen 13), with paintings by the German Expressionists and an interesting exhibition on research into the provenance of paintings in the Nannen collection, which forms a large part of the museum's holdings.

We like the combination of the good site and the good fish restaurant. The receptionist and butler in charge was very kind and helpful. Your map to find the place was not clear and did not state the name Jarßum nor the streets going to the site.

Emden is a very convenient location to visit places in East Friesland provided you have a car at your disposal. It is nice to visit Groningen in the Netherlands, as well. Had much fun with all the sights in the sunshine. We were lucky to spend 5 wonderful sunny days

Town is in a good location and close to Greetsiel and the beach. Lots of low key things to do. The main center of Emden is nothing to write home about but the area around is beautiful. But what makes going to Emden worth it is Boardinghouse 96 Quatier!! Incredible place with cool history although the outside has a Detroit feel...

My expectations were not very high since this is a small neighborhood hotel that was near to relatives that we were visiting. I was very pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was. The room was small but had everything we needed. The included breakfast was unbelievably wonderful. We stayed at many hotels during this trip and this breakfast was equal to or greater than many of them.

The hotel is not in the city centre but nearer to other activities and suited better this way for our purposes. Excellent breakfast and super friendly staff ready to help. They have a couple of houses, we stayed in the original. The rooms have been renovated and if not fancy, they were nice and comfortable. The bathroom was really good. All in all just as one would expect

Just spot on, perfect in fact - great communication, flat just as described, lovely rooms, lots of light, washing machine, large fridge, could not fault to be honest. Location is great 10min stroll into town along the canals, or 3mins drive and the outdoor swimming pool is just 3 mins walk, which was fantastic in the hot weather. Just idea for exploring Emden and the region.

The location was good for us - a medium walk to the Town Centre. The food & drinks at the sister hotel, Park Hotel, just down the road were excellent. Parking was located in front of the hotel on a first come first served basis.
