A lovely, comfortable cottage. It was tastefully decorated and had everything you could need for a pleasant stay. Appreciated the fact that we could get our washing done as well as prepare a few meals instead of eating out all the time. Close to town when we did eat out. It felt like a home away from home!

We loved staying in an authentic small outback town which retained its original buildings and charm, while still providing for visitors. There was a choice of pubs for refreshments and meals, and plenty to look at and experience (without being too 'in your face'). We loved being in the middle of nowhere, comfortably and not in a motel chain room! Wi-fi wasn't easy to access for us - that was fine for me but may bother some people. Bring lots of drinking water as the town water in Winton is pretty stinky.

You really need two full days in Winton, we weren't told but to see both dinosaur tours you would need more time, you couldn't fit them in on the same day. There a few things to do and see but I don't feel that tourist are being made aware of it well enough or that the landmarks or Heritage stuff is being well preserved. We had a day there and only as we were leaving discovered we had a heritage site across the road from us.

The staff at Outback Motel were knowledgeable about activities in the town and places to visit. We did the Rangelands Tour and Dinosaurs Tour with Red Dirt Tours. They were very friendly and efficient would recommend them. We visited the Tattersalls Hotel and the Waltzing Matilda Centre for meals.

We stayed for two nights in Winton and loved it!

We stayed for two nights in Winton and loved it! It would have been great to have an extra night but we still managed to fit in a trip to Lark Quarry, a drive through Bladensburg National Park, including a visit to the homestead and shearing shed (the most pristine one we've ever seen!), the Waltzing Matilda museum, a visit to the Dark Sky Observatory (a MUST do!) and the Dinosaur Museum. We also visited the pool and waterpark - on a 41C day - which was FABULOUS, and the outdoor cinema (which was fun but we would have preferred to see a movie rather than the old style experience, which was what was on offer for us). The pubs were great, the coffee shop/bookshop was a terrific find. This is a great place for a family holiday, and our Olive Grove accommodation was just perfect for us.

The age of dinosaurs and Waltzing Matilda centre were just amazing. So educational and engaging. The work that has been put into these is incredible. The bakery makes the best pies and apple turnovers.

It was clean, had all the amenities we needed, close to the centre of town, and the receptionist/owner (?) was very considerate. The hot water from the GAB was a bonus - we have stayed in places in Outback Queensland with better reviews that didn't have hot water and were not as clean and presentable as the Winton Outback Hotel.

A beautiful home in a quiet location. The house had everything you need for a two day stay. It was a hop, skip and a jump to the Winton Hotel and a 5-10 minute stroll to the main street. We loved the peaceful and quiet location. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Lisa.

The accommodation was quiet and in the middle of town so it was easy to walk to hotels and shops. A kettle, toaster, microwave, crockery and cutlery were supplied. The ensuite was a good size.
