Overlooking Lake Windermere, this YHA hostel is located in the picturesque village of Troutbeck, 2 miles from Windermere. It offers affordable accommodation, free parking, home-cooked food and self-catering kitchen facilities.

It is a wonderful hostel in a fantastic location. There are great facilities; a well equipped kitchen if you want to cook yourself or a restaurant that seemed reasonable but we didn't eat there. There is outdoor seating with a lovely view of the lake. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The shared bathroom was also clean and the shower was big. The staff were super welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. It is great value for money in this area!

The location and atmosphere were good and it was a friendly and homely environment. I loved the books on the shelves, the sofas and games provided. The self service kitchen was useful to have. The outdoor eating area was peaceful and beautiful with lovely views on a clear day. The woods around were a quiet and peaceful spot to walk. The food was very good and inexpensive.
